Story
Meet Lily, a senior dog who's as sweet as she is brave. She's got a gentle heart and a goofy personality that never fails to bring a smile. Lily's curious nature means she's always ready for an adventure, whether that's a leisurely walk around the block or a cozy evening at home. She cherishes companionship and loves nothing more than to protect those she cares about. But don't let her age fool you - Lily's spirit is as vibrant as ever. Adopting Lily means gaining a loyal friend who'll bring joy, laughter, and a whole lot of love into your life. Lily is currently in foster care, so she is not physically on our facility. If you are interested in setting up a time to meet Lily, please reach out to our foster care coordinator through email, fostercare@petsadoption.org!

Story
Cabazon is a 2 year old pointer mix. About 60 lbs. He was rescued from a shelter. He's a gentle giant and loves getting cuddles. But he is a big young dog, and has a lot of energy! He does well with his small dog friends- one of our smallest dogs was Cabazon's best friend before being adopted.  His main issue we've seen is that he can be territorial, and may not like it when new dogs come into his territory. He's had his shots, is microchipped, has been neutered, and is ready for his new home! We're not sure of his breed/mix - The shelter called him a pit bull mix- legs a bit short; his head, though big, is not that of a pitbull - ears are placed more forward.  From his lying down photo, we would not say "pit" - whatever he is, very sweet and loving - ignores barking little dogs completely. His favorite thing is to get a head massage!  Would be ideal for a retired single or couple who have a relaxed lifestyle, sit on the couch or patio and rub this guy's huge head!  Hey, maybe he's a Genie!  It's sure worth some tries - relaxing for everyone.  Good emotional support dog...xoxo&#226&#128&#139 Are you my furrever family? For further info on the adoption process, please visit our home page and check out the "Adopt a Dog" section, which has thorough instructions.  All our dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and  fully vaccinated before adoption; they have been wormed, bathed, socialized, walked daily and much loved; each adoptee leaves with a leash, collar, and all medical records.   Our prices are higher than the shelters' because we nurse the dogs through their illnesses and get them needed surgeries and dentals. We also spend time socializing. Furthermore, unlike shelters, rescues do not get financial aid from the government and must rely on donations, grants, and adoption fees. Our fees start at $150 and go up to $750. The higher end is for our most in demand dogs, such as puppies, young beagles, and hard-to-find purebred dogs. In special cases, for purebred puppies, we may go beyond this and charge $1000. The lower end is for dogs that have been here for a while. The good news is that, because rescues fall under the "charity" category, the fees for our dogs are officially donations and are therefore tax deductible. You can think of it as donating to a worthy cause and getting a dog in return!  The beauty of coming to our Apple Valley sanctuary is that you can see all 90+ dogs.  Email your application and ask for more details. Sponsor Me Beagles & Buddies must find ways to raise money so we can continue saving dogs. Your tax-deductible donation keeps our rescue kennel operating!  Hours Friday:  10 am to 3 pm Saturday:  10 am to 3 pm Sunday: 10 am to 3 pm Monday: CLOSED Tuesday: CLOSED Wednesday: CLOSED Thursday: CLOSED &#226&#128&#139 Weekday appointments may be available.  We are a small staff and do our best to accommodate your needs. Story
Moose is a loyal and relaxed pup who enjoys being lazy and laying in the sun, but also becomes an Olympian when chasing a tennis ball at the park. Her origins are a mystery. She was with a pet rescue that found her, got her vaccines up to date and spayed. We have had Moose under our care for just over a year now. She is a relaxed dog which is ideal for a small space, but loves to run around and chase other dogs or a ball when out in the open.
