He came from a kill shelter and now he has his second chance at life.  He is a calm dog and he seems to be good with others. He is a little thin right now but we are working to get him to his prime weight. Adoption UPDATE! *NO EVENTS WILL TAKE PLACE AT PETSMART UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE* With the COVID 19 situation currently going on, we will be doing our adoptions differently for everyone's safety.  Please follow our FB page https://www.facebook.com/SALpetrescue/ As it will be the ONLY way to see and adopt from us this week.  Pets CANNOT be adopted prior nor do we hold pets. The websites (PETFINDER/ADOPTAPET, ETC) are updated by Wednesday evening of each week. Please follow the FB page for any information on new pets that will be available.  Everything will be posted to the wall. No clicking needed. I will be posting roughly 5-10 pets daily. PLEASE follow the Facebook for updates. Rough start time is NOON. Per comments and adopter availability, I will be sending a single adopter in for a specific adoption appointment time.  (PLEASE DO NOT COMMENT YOU WANT TO ADOPT IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO COME ADOPT THE DAY OF POSTING).  Potential adopters will have given times they must be present and will have roughly 20 minutes to make a decision. Please understand the pets will have just been neutered and each adopter has a full 24 hours with the pet at home.  I will be sending all adoption contracts through email PRIOR to sending someone in to adopt.  I ask that you PRINT, fill out and bring the form with you. DO NOT email it back.  All adoption donations are cash donations only. $320. All pets come with a minimum of 2 sets if vaccines, flea. heartworm prevention, 2 de wormings and neutered. We also provide a free office exam and fecal. (Reccomended clinic) I want to personally thank everyone for their understanding and patience during this trying and difficult time.  We will continue to help save as many pets as possible while also striving to keep our adopters safe. Willie is a very well behaved dog inside a home, housebroken, great with the kids, trustworthy in the house. He has high hunting instincts and would do well where he can run a lot, on some land. He is a country excellent hunting  dog not a city dweller. Adopters can attend our Saturday adoption event or qualified applicants can be scheduled to meet dogs at their foster homes.  Florida Pointer Rescue dogs are fostered in private homes, temperament tested,socialized with other dogs and people, fully vetted, spayed/neutered, current on age appropriate vaccines, on heartworm and flea preventive, heartworm tested. Adoptable dogs and pups can be seen at our weekly Adoption Event every Saturday at the Pet Supermarket in New Smyrna Beach 10-2 pm. 1938 State Road 44, New Smyrna Beach FL 32168. Lollie girl! Found with a gaping throat wound... some of the edges were fleshy nodules of skin that had been growing in between the links of her embedded chain. It was pretty horrible. She has since healed very well and is well on her way to being a good dog... an irreplaceable member of your family. She is so smart. She knew sit before I taught her. She wants to pleas people so badly. She is so tense from being kept chained as a puppy. She has not been long off the chain. Maybe 2 months now. She is getting better but still needs work. She sits, lays down and gives me her paw. She is doing good with potty training. She is okay with the cats, but we have kittens and I just do not feel safe letting her be loose with them all. She is very food aggressive through the crate. Not with people but with other animals. She wants to chase the chickens so badly... and we have not had any occasion to work on that. She is not that way with cats. But perhaps outdoors she may be. We do not let her run loose in the yard because of her chicken aggression. We really think Lollie will be a incredible dog once she gets the direction and love she so greatly deserves.
