Story
Isn’t she a pretty girl????So very sweet and precious! Madison was brought to the shelter as an abandoned / lost girl and sadly, no one came to claim her. She is a young girl, perhaps 18 mos old and a Pointer/Pit mix. Madison has very nice manners – she is very well behaved, sits on command and has been very well cared for. She is fine with other dogs and loves everyone she meets! She’ll make a great family fur baby!

Story
Gus was dumped in the middle of no where with 3 other dogs in very rural Arkansas. They had to fend off lots of dangers & unfortunately, one of the dogs did not survive. A kind person located the surviving 3 dogs, took them to safety & asked us to help. Gus is now safe in foster care. He gets along well with other dogs & would love a home with a family that will love him forever. He is approximately 1 year old. He has been vaccinated & wormed & has been neutered & microchipped. For more information about Gus, please contact Susan at daiseymaggie@yahoo.comTo make the best possible match for you and the pet, please click below to complete the Adoption Application. Story
When Zena entered our program back in 2018, we found her starving. She showed up at home near Hot Springs, Arkansas, and the family took her in then put the word out that she had been found. After several weeks of searching for Zena's family with no success, OOTW was contacted.Once accepted into our program, Zena went to be vetted, spayed, microchipped, get her shots and be heartworm tested, which we found her to be light positive. Soooo, she underwent the slow kill treatment and now she is negative. Zena went up for adoption but lingered in our program. :( Then we got a great application from New York and Zena loaded a transport and off she went to a fantastic home where she was well cared for and much loved. Unfortunately, the family adopted another dog, a much smaller dog. Zena and the new pup were fast friends until one day when a chew stick got pushed up under a piece of furniture unbeknownst to the owners. When the small dog went to get the chew, Zena decided that just wasn't going to work for her and she jumped on the little dog. Even though the owners were fearful for the little dog, there was no real damage, not even a drop of blood spilled, but it was decided it would be best for Zena to be rehomed where she can be the only dog and not have to share her chewies ... because obviously, they are her favorite! So, here is what we want for Zena ... Zena needs to be in an only-dog home with a fenced yard. This girl is well behaved, completely housebroken, enjoys dog events and people events. She's is friendly, obedient and has been on several long road trips camping with her family, and has done very well. If you have a doggie door, great, as she does know how to use one, if you don't, no worries, she has never had an accident in the house. Zena is also crate trained and has be known to occasionally sleep in the bed with her owners! As mentioned above, Zena can be aggressive with other dogs over food and chew sticks. If she is alone, this will not be a problem. Zena has never shown any aggression to adults or children. We would recommend she be with children over the age of 6, kids who can understand to leave a dog alone when eating even though she has never given her foster home any problem with this. Zena is in GREAT shape! When she arrived in 2018, she was starving and went from starving to becoming OVERWEIGHT while waiting on a home! But once she arrived in New York, her dad put her on a fitness training program and she lost 12 pounds and is at her perfect weight, 60 pounds! Zena was walked on leash two miles morning and evening every single day she lived with her family ... even on the days it snowed, she just put on her little boots and coat and off they went. :) She spotted deer, skunk, squirrels, chipmunks and many more forest animals on her walks, but was always obedient and did not chase! Now that says a lot right there!Adoption fee for Zena is $150 which will help to offset her vetting and care.To apply to adopt, just scroll down to the link to our Adoption Application! To make the best possible match for you and the pet, please click below to complete the Adoption Application. He’s is approximately 1.5/2 years old. He is currently hanging out with 4 other dogs. He does need slow introductions but has done fine with al my dogs. He is very loving. Will obey some commands, will sleep quietly in a crate.
