Story
Doogie Bowser here. I am approximately one yr old 55 lbs lab/pointer mix. My foster mom and the vet says I’m still under weight even though I have gained 10 lbs since arriving in Illinois. I love to play with all my foster sisters and brothers. It’s great there are puppies, little and big dogs. Boys and girls. I love to get loved on and cuddle. I am working on house training since everyone is pretty sure I have never lived in a house before. I’m just a big young pup who is ready to learn so bring on the trainer and I'll bring on the love! Illinois law requires that all of our dogs and puppies be spay/neutered within 30 days of adoption. In order to fully comply with this regulation and reduce the number of homeless dogs and puppies, we do not permit out of state adoptions of unaltered dogs or puppies. Puppies have special needs and require a home where there will be someone available to care for, socialize, and train them during the day. If your family is away from the home for several hours at a time, please consider adopting a “teen” or adult dog. Our standard adoption fee is $295 cash or check and $300 credit card ($5 processing fee). It includes spay/neuter when age appropriate at our participating vets, age appropriate core vaccinations, fecal testing, deworming, flea and tick preventative,1st vet visit at one of our participating vets, and micro-chipping. We must have an application, conduct a phone interview, and meet your entire family to approve an adoption. Please email safehavendogsIL@yahoo.com for an application or additional details. Please note that the breeds and sizes posted in this biography are educated best guesses and are not guaranteed.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Our online adoption application can be found on our website at  https://www.arf-il.org/adopt/application/ Reese is looking for a special lady, or ladies/females only household to give her love to.  Reese needs lots of tender loving care after starting out in an environment that caused her great worry. She is a very loving 33 pound 2-year-old pointer mix who came up from Tennessee. Reese craves attention and LOVES cuddling, belly scratches, and snuggling in bed with her foster Mom. Reese is fearful of men and young children and would do best in a female household without young children. This cute young girl is house trained, comes when called, and walks adequately on a leash.  Reese is looking for a human or humans who are home more often than not.  Reese feels more secure when her foster mom is with her, though she has become more comfortable with new situations.  Reese enjoys playing with other dogs, but would be happiest having 100% of your attention! Will you be the person who gives Reese the love she craves? She will make a dedicated lifetime companion! Reese is micro-chipped, up to date on all vaccinations, housetrained, and spayed.  Her new family will be required to complete a basic obedience course of their choosing. Reese's adoption fee is $300.  A meeting will not be scheduled until you have an approved application, so if you're interested in adopting Reese fill out an Online Application today! Once your application has been approved, an ARF volunteer will contact you to arrange a meeting.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.   Thank you for considering a rescue pet from A.R.F.-Animal Rescue Foundation! We are  based in Wheaton, IL and conduct adoption events in the DuPage County area. If you are interested in adopting one of our pets, please submit an adoption application at https://www.arf-il.org/adopt/application/  Adoption appointments are scheduled based on the order of applications received, so submit your application early! Submitting an application does not commit you to any animal but does get you a head start with the adoption approval process. Due to a high volume of applications, we are often unable to respond to questions or schedule meetings until your application has been approved. More information about our adoption process can be found on our website here: https://www.arf-il.org/adopt/ As an all-volunteer, foster home-based organization, A.R.F. Animal Rescue Foundation does not have a facility where applicants can visit our animals. Please visit https://www.arf-il.org/events/ for a list of our upcoming adoption events.  Thank you for choosing to adopt, not shop!

Puppies on YouTube #1< /a> Puppies on YouTube #2< /a> Puppies on YouTube #3< /a> ***This little puppy is named after one of the greatest Pointer mix puppies I was able to love for nearly 17 years. Like this little Buckwheat, my IBR rescue Buckwheat survived Parvo Virus at 9 weeks old and became our mascot for most of his life. This little puppy has so much potential to do the same. Please meet The Little Rascals litter. They are about 12 weeks old now and doing great in temporary foster care. We are looking for foster or foster to adopt homes in the Chicago are. The ideal candidates will have a fenced in yard and have Pointer experience. We also prefer homes with kids older than 5 if possible. We are only looking for help in the Chicago area due to vetting needs. If you would like to help, please click HERE to submit a foster to adopt home application.
