Story
Hi there, my name is Helen and I'm a one year old female Pointer mix! I'm a quiet, peaceful dog who loves meeting new people and making friends! I've even made a new friend at the shelter. My kennel mate and I enjoy spending our days together just watching daily activities! If you adopt me, I will be spayed, micro-chipped, and vaccinated. Oh and I do have heartworms, but with your help, I can get rid of them and be as good as new! Please come meet me today and let's start making plans to spend our lives together! HW+

Story
PawPaw, dear sweet shy boy who is afraid of almost everything except the idea of getting affection. You will feel so rewarded when you get a little tail wag out of him. Sometimes, that is the best he can do. Nothing but loving dog behind that timid facade. He needs a family, a home, where he can build up his confidence and share all that he has to share. All of our adoptable animals are now in foster homes! Our Adoption Center is no longer open but adoptions will still be completed offsite at our PetSmart Claiborne location on a case by case basis. The safety of our foster parents and community is of utmost importance to us and it will be at the foster's discretion if they'd like to meet at this time. If you interested in meeting one of our adoptable animals, please contact the Adoption Team at adoptions@la-spca.org and we will be in contact with you after speaking with the foster parents.

Story
Disclaimer he is half pit bull and half pointer. They didn’t have an option for pits.. I got him 4 years ago when he was 11 months old. He does have skin issues and I haven’t been able to take him to the vet like I should, due to my schedule for work and money issues. I believe he is allergic to fleas, or he just has a nervous itch. He attempts to chew at his back and scratches himself till he bleeds. It’s gotten to the point where a cone wouldn’t work for him anymore and I had to move into a muzzle that he wears 95% of the time. I hate having to have it on him but it’s the only thing that is making him stop the chewing. But other that his skin issues, he’s a very sweet dog. He loves everyone very much. He’s an amazing pup. He doesn’t really like dogs that are the same size or bigger. He feels threatened almost.

Story
Kili is a 3 year old mixed breed. He is the best friend I've ever had. He has extreme anxiety but is a sweetheart. He loves to cuddle, lick, and hog the bed at night. He comes from a big family but recently I moved and they will let me have him until I find him a new home soon. I would like for him to go to a small home of 1-2 so he can adjust with good timing, but he does warm up quickly.

Story
Hi my name is Farrah, a female possibly Pointer and Pitt Bull terrier mix, estimated DOB: 10/30/2017, currently weighing 54 lbs. They say I am a really sweet and silly girl; I can be a bundle of fun with a happy tail. I know sit, down and come. I am eager to please so I learn quickly. My 2 favorite past times are playing with my foster siblings and snuggling with my foster Dad. I even like playing with the friendly cat and learned to respect the space of the not so friendly cat. I also enjoy swimming. I am crate-trained and house broken. I would love to have a person/family with a large yard to run and play; I promise a lifetime of fun and love in return! If you have room in your heart and family for a silly bundle of love, please ask about me today. Oh, I also must have a secured fenced in yard; apartment communities are the only exception. Experience with my breed and/or understanding how to be a good consistent pack leader would help me to flourish to be a confident girl. . I also am not comfortable with young children, older teenage children only. Apply to adopt me @ http://www.arfla.org/info/adoption Updated: 2/23/2019

Story
I'm a Pointer mix who was adopted from Pet Savers and my adopters came back a couple of weeks later and adopted another dog as a playmate for me. Then they decided they didn't want me anymore. They said I was more energetic than the new dog but what did they expect since I was a young pup. I love to run and go for regular walks. I am a real cuddler and quite affectionate. UPDATE: I am back at Pet Savers after having been adopted again. I got in a situation where I was nervous and I bit someone. My adopters decided to return me. I really am a good dog I just need to find someone who has the time and patience to work with me. I'm looking for someone who can help restore my confidence so I don't get so nervous. Est. D.O.B. 11/01/2008If you are interested in adopting, please visit petsaversshreveport.org and find our adoption application under the 'Dogs' tab.  Completed applications can be emailed to our Adoption Team at petsavers@petsaversshreveport.org - all adoptions require a vet reference.  Please let us know if you have any questions or if you would like to set up a meet and greet with a specific dog.
