Meet Salem Bailey, he's a one-year-old large Lab Pointer mix, stunning in color, who's just a big, goofy baby. He loves people and other dogs, but has no manners and needs an owner with a strong hand. Salem is so excited to meet everyone he sees, which he shows by standing up to give big sloppy kisses- this could be a little much for small children, or those unused to having a dog in the home. He has a ton of energy and would love buddies to play with. Salem still has some puppy clumsiness, trying to control his long legs - we would not suggest him for apartment or tight space living. He is working on his house and leash training, needing a family that will help him learn and grow. From Salem's foster mom: Salem is such a sweet boy who just wants to be a part of a family. Belle is just over a year old (16 months). My daughter brought her home from a local rescue - unfortunately without consulting my wife and I. So, there's our first issue as it often falls on me to take care of "her" dog while she is working or out for the night. My other dog is an 11 y/o Westie - this is the second issue as "Wendy the Westie" is a dominant female and is not friendly with Belle. Belle, of course, wants to play with Wendy who pretty much rejects any attempt Belle makes to play. Belle has loads of energy and needs to run and play a lot. She gets along fantastically with other dogs (except my Westie doesn't seem to want her here :) ) and people. She is rambunctious (jumping on me/furniture) at times but I just crate her to calm down. She craves affection and does have quiet moments after sufficient exercise. She's a beautiful black and white dog around 50 pounds or so - it's just that my wife and I are both over 65 and we have another dog and we just can't handle two.
