We are still accepting applications for available dogs but are delaying in-person meet and greets due to the ‘stay at home’ policy. Thank you for your support.  DOB:  04/09/2016 Requires another dog in home: Uncertain, see bio Okay with dogs of all sizes: Unsure, she has never met large dogs Okay with cats: Unknown Okay with children under 12 years old: Unknown Requires a fenced yard: Yes Note: dogs must always be leashed whenever outside of a contained area Hi there, my name is Josephine and I’m a 3yr old Pomeranian!  I’m a very gentle girl who loves to be held and snuggled.  I’m still pretty new to my foster home, but I’m starting to come around to the other dogs in the house.  I’m getting close to playing with them, but it’s taking me a little time.   One thing you should know about me, I have knee issues.  I will need surgery to correct one and it’s possible I may need surgery in the future for the other.  I am still the same sweet girl though, and am continuing to work on my training.  I am not fully potty trained yet, so I’ll need to remain on a good schedule until I get it down completely.  I’m also not great on the leash, but I’m working on that!  I get along great with other dogs, but I may not need another one in my new home just because I enjoy being around my human so much.  I don’t know about cats at all; in fact, I’m not even sure I know what a cat is!  I can get spooked by noises and commotion but can snap out of it quickly once my human picks me up.  So far I am pretty quiet but will join in a little when the other dogs are being loud.  All in all, I’m just a sweet little girl who is looking for her perfect home.  I hope that home is with you!   Many of our dogs are rescued from commercial breeders where they spent their lives getting comfort from their canine friends.  In turn, most require another companion dog in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog, and do not currently have a dog residing with you, please understand that your home might not be the right fit for many of our dogs. ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  ADOPTION EVENTS:   Adoption events are updated as the foster home RSVP's to attend. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. You may wish to consider applying and setting up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved.   ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions.   FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves. If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application.   NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.   YOU CAN HELP: Not able to foster or adopt right now? I'm Ruxpin, you know like Teddy Ruxpin? I look like him I'm told. I'm like a really fluffy red bear cub at 16 pounds. I'm new to rescue and I'm a pretty shy guy. Things become less scary for me with every passing day though. I learned how to use stairs on my 2nd day in foster care and I did it all by myself. I wonder if that's a record? I'm also as quiet as could be in my crate which I guess is something humans appreciate. I'm doing really good on potty training, but my foster mom says it's beginners luck because I'm bound to have an accident at some point. I think I can do it though, I mean I know you're suppose to go outside. I'm smarter than the average bear!  I've got high hopes for myself, I'm going to be the best dog someday. I need to build confidence though and in order to do that I need another dog in my home to teach me the way of the dog. I will be brave and learn so that I can be the best friend to whoever my furever person(s) ends up being. I also need a fenced yard at least until I build confidence because I'm really afraid of stuff and I get this overwhelming urge to get away from anything that makes me feel uncomfortable. I'm going to get better, I know I am. I'm still afraid of my foster mom even though she gives me these meaty marrow bones that are so good. I think she's nice, I really do, but everything is just so new to me and especially nice people. I'm not used to that yet, so I have a hard time trusting. If you're in to fluffy bear cubs and looking to show them you're a good person and that I can trust you ,than please, fill out one of the fancy application things I need in order to meet you. Please? I’m potty trained, but need to be let out every 2-3 hours to make sure I make it outside!  I don’t walk on the leash every day, so I need more help with that and will need a fenced yard.  I know a couple of commands: kennel/crate and go potty.  I’m sure I can easily learn more with patience! I get along with other dogs so well that I prefer to have another one in my new home.  Not only will they be my playmate, but they’ll be teaching me how to dog properly.  I’m not so sure about cats or young children yet, so I can’t say how I am around them.  What I do know is that I’m a super sweet little girl and anyone will be lucky to have me!  Can I join your family?   Many of our dogs are rescued from commercial breeders where they spent their lives getting comfort from their canine friends.  In turn, most require another companion dog in their forever home in order for them to feel safe.
