Story
Duke and Duchess are a bonded pair of Perro de Presa Canario's. Duke (cropped ears) appears to be about five-years old, is 108 lbs. Duchess appears to be about three years old and is 88 lbs.  We have had them both spayed and neutered.  They are bonded which means we will not separate them so must be adopted together.  Our Adoption Application will be the first step and a home visit and Veterinary Reference will be a required part of our adoption application process. Oh - Duke tested very faint positive on his heartworm test, Duchess tested negative.  They are both now on monthly heartworm prevention and we are going to retest them a bit later on to see if she is still negative and how his looks. Duke & Duchess came to us as strays amazingly enough.  They were healthy and we called area shelters and looked for lost reports in neighboring counties as well with no luck.   Duchess just wiggles all over when you talk to her and doesn't make a move without Duke.  Duke was a bit more standoffish at first (normal for this breed) but is now just a wonderful big boy who also stays very close to Duchess. They do not seem to test our fences and have not been reactive to other dogs. Contact us at HSELCO@bellsouth.net for an Adoption Application.         ADOPTION FEES Dogs & Puppies.....$100.00. This Adoption fee includes: mandatory spay/neuter which will be done before you can take your dog or puppy home with you; basic canine immunizations (DHPP-CPV & Bordatella Intranasal); de-wormings; one-year rabies vaccination if old enough; heartworm test if over five months old; microchip from 24-Pet Watch; certificate for free health examination at your participating veterinarian; and a goodie bag chocked full of information, toys, and more. Yes, there are sometimes exceptions to our normal fee for older dogs or special cases or adoptions of two dogs together.
