 Sky was an owner surrender. She is about 1 1/2 years old.  Due to spay/neuters being 'non-essential' surgeries, Sky is not yet spayed.  She can go to a 'foster-to-adopt' LOCAL home and once she can have his surgery at the shelter the adoption can be finalized.  Checks will be done to ensure there are no other unaltered dogs in the home.   Unless otherwise stated, the adoption fee for dogs over 5 months starts at $120.00. Puppies under 5 months are $175.00. Cats over 1 year are $35.00, kittens under 1 year old are $60.00. Dog adoption fees include a microchip. Cats can be microchipped by request for an additional $10.00.The adoption fee includes the animal's surgery, vaccinations, flea preventative, deworming medication, sample bag of food/treat samples and a free first exam with participating veterinarians. Shelter policy and 2018 Indiana state law decrees all animals must be spayed or neutered prior to leaving the shelter.Our shelter is open to the public on Monday- Saturday from 8:00 am -5:00 pm EST with the exception of Wednesdays on which we typically open by 1:00 pm. I know people think....how can someone rehome their beloved pet. I have been thinking about this for three years now, this is what is best for him. Let me explain. Jake is a very good, lovable and tentative dog. He needs to bond due to separation anxiety. He is very good at letting you know how much he loves you. My problem is, I am a single women who works a lot and I am finding that this anxiety is getting worse the older he is getting. I recently purchase a thunder vest for him, he has been getting scared during storms. He needs someone who can be with him more than I can, I would like someone who is retired and needs a companion. He is the best companion I know. He does take thyroid medicine and I give him a supplement for his kidneys. He is potty trained, but if he gets real scared, he will pee on the floor. Just to stay honest here. I really hope he finds someone who needs him and much as he needs them.

Audrey is approximately 10 years old. She had a herniated disk in her neck a couple of years ago, and takes anti-inflammatory medication each day. She also has hypo-thyroidism, and takes medication each day for this. With a full-time job and three little ones, I find myself having difficulty giving her the personal care that she deserves. She needs a calmer, quieter environment, in which to live out the remainder of her days. While she is a sweet girl, she has become impatient with small children over the years. She also does not generally get along with other dogs. (This may be a jealousy issue.) She has been well-loved and we hope to find a loving home for her to spend the remainder of her life.
