Story
My husband and I are newly married. After living together for a bit, my cat/dog and my husband's dog, Murphy, aren't very happy together. Murphy is good with people and kids, but needs to be an "only dog" to be happy in his older age. He is about 11 years old. Up for adoption to a good home and as a good companion. No pre-existing health issues, crate trained, and free to good home. Please contact for more info or vet references.

Story
Please contact Cathleen (cathleen@pugrescuenc.org) for more information about this pet.Http:/www.pugrescuenc.com/images/PRONC_Express.jpg Emma's eye condition is chronic and she will always need her prescription drops and ointment every 2 hours around the clock for life. We will continue to do this for her as she can see. 8/30/17 The specialist did 3 types of surgery on Emma's eyes. Hotz-Celsus extensive blepharoplasty, lateral Canthoplasty, Stades blepharoplasty. Essentially they did fixed her entropin on the top and bottom and realigned both eye lids. They are now in the correct position. They are swollen and red which is normal. The specialist wants us to move her upper eye lids in hopes that Emma will be able to open and close her eyes now. If we can get her muscles trained again. Thank you everyone for your continued support and donations. Emma's eyes are stable the specialist are still trying to decide what is the best treatment option for her. We went ahead and got the 4 masses removed and 3 of the 4 came back as mast cell cancer so she will need to be watched in the future and have any masses removed as soon as they come up. Update: 3 weeks later and still no tears so the specialist is going to try and add another eye drop to my lists of ones I take so right now my eye medications are costing $200.00 a month. If this does not work and I can not make my own tears then the specialist will need to do surgery and move a salivary gland (parotid duct transposition) to each of my eyes. Please consider making a donation to help with my medications and surgery. Paypal: chris@pugrescuenc.org or mail a check to our main office thanks Update: I am currently under care with the eye specialist to see what can be done to correct the severe dry eyes that I suffer from. Right now my eye drops are costing the rescue $125.00 a month please consider donating as the specialist said I will need surgery as well. Emma is a 11.9 year old fawn pug who just came into rescue with terrible dry eyes she will be visiting the vet to see if there is anything more that can be done. She still has some vision in her eyes so she will be on drops for the rest of her life to preserve what she has. If you can not adopt please consider making a donation to help us help Emma. We are hoping someone has a solution for her dry eyes.  Emma has been around children and other dogs. Due to the fact she can not close her eyes no cats please. Emma has separate anxiety and needs a human that works from home and that she can be close by to. Even with the other pugs in her foster home Emma gets frantic if she can't find a human in sight. Foster in Virginia Beach, VA once she is ready her adoption fee will be $125.00. Please put in your application at www.pugrescuenc.org (We only adopt to states surrounding VA and NC)Adopt A Pet. . .  Save A Life!http://www.apugrescue.org Http://www.pugrescuenc.org Email us:  admin@pugrescuenc.org
