You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. All of our dogs and cats are in foster homes and we have no paid staff.  If you have questions concerning a specific animal,  PLEASE fill out an application and the foster parent will be in touch.  We will not arrange any home visits with any of our dogs and cats until your application is processed.  Please understand our foster parents are precious to our 2nd Chance family; without them we cannot function, so we do our best to not burden them with multiple appointments.  Our foster parents will choose their top 3 applications and arrange home visits with these applicants.  The adopter will be chosen at that time.  The process can take anywhere from a week to a month.  We want to make sure our little furry ones are placed in their "forever home" and never have to go through a rehoming again!   Update - Moe has been adopted.  Larry & Curly are very bonded.  We are looking for an adopter that will want them both and has a fenced yard for them to run and play :) Well the shelter caught us "playing hookie"  We were running around town and they scooped us up and put us in puppy jail!  It was noisy and no one came for us!!!  Hmmmmm I don't understand why we are ADORABLE!  Anyhooo 2nd Chance said they would take us and so we southerners are now northerners.  I talked with Mo & Curly and they said there is no way we are going to start barking like northern dogs there is just no twang to it!  So if you all want to meet us put in an application and we will take a gander at it and give ya a ring.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to  families with children under the age of 5.  We do not adopt dogs to renters.  Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not.   A pet is a lifetime commitment.  The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners.  We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs.  Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop!

His story is quite the heartbreaking one. He was surrendered yesterday due to his owner passing away. When Ottis was just a pup he was hit by a car. His owner got him the vet care he needed but he suffered spinal damage and was unable to use his back legs. She handmade him a cart with wheels and this strong little guy taught himself to walk again. Now he can walk al...l by himself without the help of his cart with little difficulty. He is as sweet as can be and sad now that his owner is no longer with him. He is wonderful with other dogs, cats and very gentle with children. He also will give a big smile when you say to him 'show me your geekers!' Something him and his owner shared together. Will you give him the forever home he needs? Please remember that in the future he will be a special needs dog as he may need a cart again as he grows older and you must be a truly committed forever home.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.

Story
We rescued Whiskey almost 6 years ago. The vet believes he’s 12-13. He is the sweetest dog, so gentle and just loves being close and pet. He has never shown any form of aggression towards people, children including with bones, treats, toys. Etc He is house and crate trained. We will only consider adopters willing to keep him and his brother jager together.
