Story
Basil is one of nine dogs who came to us from a small hoarding situation in town. He appears to be a chihuahua mixed with some sort of wire haired breed. We think he's around 2 years old. Like all of the dogs from this household, he is very shy and unsure of himself. It does take a bit of time for him to warm up and learn to trust. Once he does, he's affectionate, playful, and a lot of fun. He has been fully vet checked and neutered and his fee is $125. Basil is looking for a patient, ADULT only home. Teens should be okay. He will require time and basic training. Basil is very attached to his "brother" Barrett. We would love to see them adopted together. The fee for each dog, alone, is $125. For both, it is $200. We are open on Saturdays from 10-11:30, Sundays from 2-4, and Tuesdays from 4:30-6. We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport, behind Spectrum. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South. We do require that potential adopters be at least 21 years old and that any resident dogs be up to date on vaccinations, heartworm testing/preventative, and spayed or neutered.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.

Story
Hazel is an 11 year old chihuahua who came to the shelter as an owner surrender with her best friend, Little Bear, also a chihuahua. The 2 dogs, both 11 years old, are a bonded pair and MUST be adopted together. They were surrendered as their owners felt that they no longer had time for them. Hazel is the more outgoing of the 2 dogs. She is very sweet and well mannered but does have a funny walk. She does appear to have a problem with the elbows on her front legs. We will definitely get it vet checked before the 2 are adopted. The fee for BOTH dogs is $150. Hazel is spayed already but will be vet checked, vaccinated, and have a complete blood profile done before adoption. We are open on Sundays from 2-4 and Tuesdays from 4:30-6. Story
Barrett is one of nine dogs that we have taken from a small hoarding type situation in town. All of the dogs are very shy and have not been socialized well. They are said to be chihuahua mixes of some kind, but we're really scratching our heads over this. Barrett is a smaller guy with very delicate features. We think he's about 1-2 years old. He puts up a tough front, but it crumbles when he's presented with treats and affection. Barrett has been fully vet checked and neutered   and his fee is $125. Barrett needs a patient, ADULT only home. Teens are fine. All of the dogs from this household require basic training and a lot of time and patience. They are diamonds in the rough, for sure. Barrett is very attached to his "brother" Basil. We would love to see them adopted together but it isn't required. The fee for each dog, alone, is $125. To adopt both, it is $200.
