Sammy is a five year old, five pound long-haired Chihuahua who is house and crate trained, neutered, current on vaccines, microchipped and heartworm negative.  He is great with older kids, best as an only dog, and walks well on a leash. They are all kept in foster homes until they are adopted. Sweet Little Lap Dog!Hi! I am Elsa! I might be named after an ice queen but I will melt your heart!  I am a 3-4 year old Chihuahua mix who weights approx 12 lbs.   I am a very quiet little lady who loves to burrow into blankets. I love to give kisses to my humans! I am shy and need someone who will be patient with me as I learn to trust and feel safe in my new environment. I am very friendly and love to snuggle. I am good with other dogs but prefer friends quiet like me. I have not been around cats or children but I would probably be best with older children who can have some patience and are gentle with me. I am house trained and know how to use a doggie door. I am a very good girl and know when to go to my crate with enthusiasm. I do have a pretty big bark for a little dog, I like to defend my house from door bells and knocking. I am very low maintenance and well trained. I would make an excellent companion pet.    Stay tuned for new pictures and info as we get to know Elsa! She is vaccinated, and heartworm negative. Story
***DFW area only-No Exceptions*** Cosette is an 8 month old Chihuahua who was surrendered to a shelter and saved by LHS.  She was surrendered to the shelter in rough shape. This tiny girl has had a rough start but she enjoys people. She especially likes to lay on her person under a blanket. Cosette is currently in a home with very calm and gentle cats  and generally leaves them alone or sniffs them. Her foster home also has small dogs less than 15 pounds and she needs close supervision with them as she does not always read doggie social cues well and could be injured. She would probably be best as an only dog. Due to her very small size, Cosette would do best in a home with children no younger than 10 years old. Her tiny size puts her at risk for injury with younger children.  Cosette is learning to play and act more like a puppy! She loves her stuffed toy Mr. Nibbles. She is a wonderful cuddle companion! Puppies at this age will require patience and training to become the best pup she can be. Cosette is doing very well with potty training and crate training   Current weight 3lb 6 oz Adult weight 3.5-4.5  pounds Cosette is spayed, current on vaccines, microchipped, and heartworm negative  We are requesting a donation of $275 for her adoption. .If you're interested in meeting or adopting her, please complete an application on our website and someone will reach out to you within 48 hours.  https://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ *Due to the high volume of applications and inquires for puppies, we will not be able to respond to or consider interest from those outside of the Dallas/Fort Worth Area.We do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program.
