Story
Everest is a very sweet, loving cat. He’s a gentle giant who loves to snuggle and take naps in your lap. He was adopted from a family member who said her two new puppy acquisitions seemed to be stressing him out and making him behave out of character (marking). I also have a dog who is friendly but not great with cats (I thought they could stay out of each other's way). I had Everest evaluated and he has Feline Lower Urinary Tract Disease (FLUTD), which means if he isn't on a special diet, crystals form in his kidneys and cause him pain. Stress aggravates the condition. FLUTD can be controlled through diet and stress alleviation. Unfortunately this is not my house. He gets along great with our other 3 cats but continues to mark (urine) on occasion. The dog doesn't help. Everest grew up in a house with 3 boys under 12 however avoids young children. So a quiet house with NO dogs and NO young children would be best for him. Someone who is home a lot to snuggle with him!
