****THIS DOG IS BEING FOSTERED IN WOLCOTT, CT**** Murtagh is approximately two years old. We think he is probably a wonderful mix of rat terrier, toy fox terrier and chihuahua. He is a small little package at approximately 7 pounds. (Perfect lap size!) He is sweet as pie and loves all dogs and cats he has met. His foster family thinks he would like children, but he is a bit mouthy with play and needs a bit more training in that regard. He is very gentle. He is housebroken, and can use a doggie door. He has not mastered stairs yet but we are working on it. He is crate trained and will sleep in a crate or in bed with you. His favorite game is playing fetch, playing with stuffed toys and sitting on your lap. He is also good on a leash and enjoys a walk outside. He was found as a stray in Florida, and is now being fostered in CT by a ResQ foster family. He is an active guy and loves to jump and play. His foster family thinks he would be a great agility dog, and is athletic as well as very affectionate. Mr. Bean loves to cuddle! He is not picky, he cuddles with adults, kids, dogs, and cats! This beautiful little girl was on the euthanasia list at our local shelter because she had an injured back leg. All she needed was an Fho which our surgeon repaired and she is now racing around and playing with her buddies like there was never anything wrong. She is approx 6 months old and 9 lbs as of 3-20. She will probably be in the 15 lb + range when fully grown. She has a great personality, loves to run and play with her toys, loves people. She is doing pretty well on her house training and runs out to the yard with her rescue friends to go , but she is not perfect yet and she will need some training on how to walk on a leash or harness, which we find is better for the smaller dogs. She looks like a chihuahua/rat terrier mix and is just a really pretty dog OUR RESCUE POLICY - It is our rescue policy for all our dogs that we require a home with no children under the age of 8, and experienced dog owners only. WE REQUIRE TWO YEARS OF VETS RECORDS ON YOUR CURRENT OR PAST DOG FOR OUR REVIEW. RECORDS MUST SHOW THE POTENTIAL ADOPTER AS THE OWNER The total adoption fee of between $550 (CT, NY, PA, RI) and $675 depending on the quarantine laws of the adopter or foster's state (primarily Massachusetts) and includes the required interstate health certificate and transport , spay/neuter, shots including rabies, bordatella, parvo, distemper and canine influenza, and microchip. The total amount is payable to Shaggy Dog Rescue which is a 501c3. We also provide a coupon for a free wellness visit to the South Wilton Vet group if convenient for you.
