Odessa was born 2/21/20 shortly after her mother came to Muddy Paws from a kill shelter in Texas.  Odessa's mother is believed to be a Rat Terrier/Dachshund mix, and the father is unknown.  This wiggly, happy puppy will be available for adoption in mid April, but applications are currently being accepted. Since this puppy may be too small to be altered at the time of adoption, the adopters will be provided with a voucher to have the puppy altered and microchipped by 6 months of age. This must be done at Nebraska Humane Society. If you prefer to take the puppy to your own vet, we will pay a PORTION of the cost ($74) to your vet of choice. The suggested adoption donation for Odessa is $450.  We are a 501c3 organization which means that your donation may be TAX DEDUCTIBLE.  Your donation goes toward the high cost of veterinary care for our animals in rescue, as well as providing supportive services to animals in homes. Information about the adoption process:  All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION.  Once your application is approved, we will put you in touch with the dog’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match.  If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the pet.  The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note:  We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter.  We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each dog, based on the dog’s needs.  If you and the dog are not a good match, we will help you select another dog, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months.
