Story
Harry's past is unknown, but his future is bright. Such a big personality in a little package. He is a sweetheart who will stare a person into submission when he wants to lay on a lap. He is very food motivated and is still working on taking treats and food nicely. He has been fearful of people, which is a shame, because he loves the attention of those that he trusts. Over the past few months, he has opened up slowly to strangers and continues to make progress. He deserves a family who will be dedicated to continuing his socialization and training. Harry is energetic and will need to be walked and exercised. He does very well in his kennel. Harry hasn't been around cats or kids in his foster home, but does wonderfully with dogs. His dream job would driving the Oscar Mayer weiner mobile!! He has already applied five times.  His adoption fee is $200. ##600216##

Story
Parker is a pocket-sized pooch with great potential. Only 1 year old and a tiny 9 lbs., he's a very shy Rat Terrier, slow to warm up to new people and animals. Several months of TLC in his foster home have begun to pay off, however, and if you're willing to be patient with him too, in a few months he will become YOUR best friend--at least when you are sitting down! It might take a few more months before he won't run if you stand, but just imagine how triumphant both of you will feel when that day arrives! Parker is working hard to become fully potty trained. He follows his canine foster brother and sister outside and will potty there if he needs to. However he hasn't yet learned how to alert the humans on his own when he needs to go, so he'll still have indoor accidents. Fortunately, he's very good about using a piddle pad if one is available. As Parker gains confidence, he is also finding his voice. He barks whenever he wants food (which is often) and attention. Over the past few months, he has become brave enough to snuggle along with his foster siblings right next to the humans! He is learning to play but is a bit mouthy and bites a little hard when playing much like a younger pup would. For that reason, he needs to be in a home without very small children. He also has learned to get on and off the furniture but sleeps quietly in his kennel at night. He will let you know when it is time to wake up in the morning though! Parker likes the cats in his foster home, but he sees them primarily as playmates for games of chase, so any cats in his new home would need to like his style of puppy play. He is so timid around the dogs that he'll allow them to steal his food, although with his newfound voice, he'll sometimes object with a little growl. In general, however, being around other dogs gives him a sense of security, so he would do best in a home that has another small dog for him to bond with and follow around. Are you intrigued by the opportunity to help a little dog on his journey to becoming a confident canine? Then you're Parker's person, for sure! Our adoption fee is $175 for adult dogs or $225 for puppies under 6 months old. Story
Behold our spoiled and beloved only child! Unfortunately we are considering rehoming her due to behavioral issues that came about due to her seizure disorder. Rey has suffered with severe seizures since she turned 1 (she is now almost 4). We have trialed several different medications and she is currently taking 2 different meds multiple times a day (we use an automatic feeder so she gets everything on time even if we're not there). Her meds will cost around $30 a month and she will need regular vet visits for bloodwork. We think due to the severity and frequency of her seizures she has suffered some brain damage which causes unpredictable behaviors which may not be safe around young children which we plan to have. We would be happy to answer any questions about her behaviours, seizures, or medications. We're just hoping to find someone with patience willing to love this little girl who has given us so many laughs and snuggles.

Story
My name is Minnie and I am a 12 year old, 6 pound Rat Terrier/Chihuahua mix.  I am looking for a forever home where I can sit in your lap and keep you company. I get along with other dogs. I love everyone but due to my age children should be older in the home. I don't need a fenced in area but I need to be on a leash when outside.  I am potty trained. I don't like being in a crate at night because I want to sleep with with my person! I am spayed, up to date on vaccines and I am micro chipped and my adoption fee is $175.00. If you want to know more about me email  projecthoperescue@gmail.com or to fill out app for me go to http://www.projecthoperescue.org

Story
Zhorbit says, 'Love me as I am.' This beautiful 12-year-old girl had a hard start in life. Through no fault of her own, she carries the baggage of her undersocialized and possibly abusive beginnings. For the past nine years in her foster home, she has been shown only love and kindness, and she has learned to trust certain people and to relax enough to truly enjoy her life. When the people around her are sensitive to her stressors and triggers, Zhorbit is happy, playful, and obedient. She is not a fan of cats, and while she is able to get along with other small dogs, she would not do well in a multidog household and would prefer to be an only dog. Zhorbit is house-trained and will bark to be let out. She is afraid of being crated, but she can be left loose in the house for several hours at a time without causing any problems. Zhorbit enjoys daily walks for exercise and also likes to snuggle up to her favorite trusted human for quiet time. Potential adopters should know that Zhorbit can't be picked up, won't tolerate being bathed or having her nails trimmed, and must be sedated at the vet's office for even the most minor of procedures. Zhorbit also has a grade 1-2 heart murmur for which she takes a diuretic; she also takes daily medication to reduce her anxiety. The monthly cost for these two medications is about $60. Because of her special needs, applicants must live within driving distance of Lansing, Michigan, so that they can have a pre-adoption meet-and-greet with Zhorbit and her foster parents. Due to Zhorbit's fear issues, she cannot be adopted to a family with young children. For more pictures of Zhorbit, visit her online photo album at https://imageevent.com/newrattitude/zhorbitdewittmichigan .   Our adoption fee is $175 for adult dogs or $225 for puppies under 6 months old.
