Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Nilla, (Priscilla) is a sweet Rat Terrier-Jack Russell mix girl of about 1-2 years of age that was rescued from the streets of Oildale California in the Central Valley. A rescue friend of mine has had her for a while and she opened up to Robbin and became loving and friendly.  Nilla is very reserved to start but once she opens up, she is all about playing and cuddles!! Nilla will need dog savvy people who love the small breeds and if you know and love the rat Terrier even better. They love hard and are fiercely loyal to their humans once they trust. Nilla will do best in a quiet home that does not have a lot of people coming and going. She may do well with children but we have not had a chance to test her, so we are recommending a child free home. She is medium-high energy so she would do well with things to climb a big yard to run and even another dog to bond and play with. Nilla has an awesome personality and will make a wonderful companion. Her tail is always wagging and she is always happy to see her humans and will greet you at the door with enthusiasm and dancing. Our Adoption Process Adoption Application w/pictures of yard and gates/fences Phone interview Meet and Greet Home check if feasible Puppies $595.00 To apply online:   http://rompinpawsrescue.rescuegroups.org/ Adoption fee is $595.00.   Adoption fee include: spay, microchip, current vaccines (DA2PP, rabies, bordatella) de-worming, flea treatment, and heartworm testing.   1   00% of all fees collected are spent on the dogs, we “Save it forward”; so each time a dog is adopted we are allowed to save another. Adoption fees are non-negotiable and are in place to allow thorough care for the dogs. Adopting a Dog requires  a lot of work and is a commitment!  -Nilla will be an awesome addition to a family that can give her the attention, exercise, training, and affection she deserves. OUR REQUIREMENTS FOR PUPPY/DOG ADOPTION:  1) These dogs are not livestock dogs. They must be family pets that are allowed inside the home. 2) PUPPIES WILL ONLY BE PLACED IN HOMES WITH YOUTHFUL, PLAYFUL, DOGS. This helps to integrate the dog into your household easier by giving the pup a mentor. 3) In addition to the youthful playful dog, someone must also be home at least part of the day. Please do not apply for a puppy if you are gone 8-10 hours a day. It is not a good situation for you or the puppy. 4) We give preference to applicants with prior small breed knowledge/ experiences. 5) Secure visible fencing required. 6) You must have a plan in place to socialize your puppy properly. 7) Please do NOT write us and ask if this puppy is available. If it is posted, it is available. BUT, we may be working other applications that came in before yours. If so, by the time you are approved, the puppy may not be available.  8) The FASTEST way to be considered for a puppy is to fill out an application. If you write, it will delay your application and put you to the back of the line. All the persons processing applications are volunteers that have their own dogs, families and job responsibilities. We do our best to get applications done quickly but applications for adult dogs come before puppy applications. There is always someone that will want to adopt a puppy. Story
Kona is a loving purebred Decker Terrier, who is looking for a family to appreciate her exuberant sweetness and to provide her the care she needs to flourish despite having an auto-immune disorder. Just 3 years old and weighing a sturdy 35 lbs., Kona doesn't let her condition, a skin condition called vasculitis, get her down. She's a very typical terrier, who enjoys lots of exercise, lots of chewing, and lots of love from her humans. Therefore, she is going to need lots of attention and supervision in order to thrive. She gets along with the three other Rat Terriers in her foster home, but can be a bit pushy when it comes to being the first in line for a treat or attention from her people. She would do best in a cat-free home as kitties might not appreciate her attention. Kona hopes you'll have plenty of time to exercise her busy mind and body (and a good supply of appropriate chew toys) so that her love of chomping on things with her pearly whites doesn't damage your favorite pair of slippers. Also, she really wants to be an A-plus student in Housetraining 101, but she'll need you to take her outside on a consistent schedule because she doesn't give strong signals of her need to go out. Perhaps most importantly, she's asking you to be committed to her physical well-being by taking her to quarterly check-ups with a veterinary dermatologist and by continuing with the medications she needs to control any flare-ups of vasculitis . (These average $150 per month.) Kona knows she's asking you for a lot, but we think you'll be repaid many times over by the warmth you'll feel in your heart knowing YOU are the reason for her health and happiness. Our adoption fee is $175 for adult dogs or $225 for puppies under 6 months old. If you are interested in adopting this dog, PLEASE READ THE DETAILED ADOPTION PROCESS information on our website at www. NewRattitude.org/adopt/  From there, you can access our adoption application or contact our Adoption Team for more info.

Story
Animal Profile: Lucky is an adorable female rat terrier/chihuahua mix who was surrendered to a high kill shelter, along with her buddy Bei Bei, because their family was moving and was unable to take them along. Lucky is an overall easygoing girl who is sweet but a little shy at first, and would enjoy having another canine companion around. She joined us in Seattle on 3/15 and we'll post more info as she settles in. Seattle Foster Update: Lucky has been with us a week and is coming out of her shell a bit. She likes to sit on her bed and watch the action of our household go by! She’s fine in her crate and sleeps well through the night without any accidents. On walks she does well on quiet streets, but is frightened of loud noises and busier traffic. At the moment she definitely prefers a quieter environment! Lucky pretty much ignores animals like bunnies and squirrels… she just watches them, so she’ll probably be fine with cats. She walks nicely with our resident dog but sometimes does some resource guarding of me in our home, so we’re working on that. She doesn’t do any resource guarding of food though, and waits for me to present her with her meal. And she’s gaining confidence on stairs! We haven’t seen her playing yet, but she follows me around and comes when she’s called about 50% of the time. She’ll do well with someone who can patiently help build her confidence. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $475 which includes spay/neuter, current rabies/DAPPV/bordetella vaccinations, microchip, health certificate, and heartworm test. All adoption fees are donations to a Washington non-profit corporation and all donations go to benefit the animals in our rescue.  Apply online at www.DogGoneSeattle.org Animal History: This dog was rescued from euthanasia at a high-kill shelter in California and will be available for adoption in Seattle, once evaluated in a loving foster home in the greater Seattle area.

Story
Animal Profile: Jack is an adorable 2-year-old male rat terrier/chihuahua mix who was just rescued from a high-kill shelter. In his foster home, Jack is an absolute sweetheart. He does great around his humans (kids too) and does well around their small resident pup. He is potty trained, and we are working on his crate training - he does get anxious when his foster family leaves the room, but we are working on this with him :) Jack was initially nervous on leash, but has greatly improved with his leash manners with some guidance and structure. We know he can continue to thrive on walks with a confident handler who can keep up with his leash manners. Jack is quite shy with new people, and needs some time and patience to learn he can trust before opening up. Once comfortable, he is a total love.  Seattle Foster Update: Jack is doing great! He just wants to snuggle and get belly rubs, and he gets along great with our dog and kids. His ears are amazing! Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $475, which includes spay/neuter, current rabies/DAPPV/bordetella vaccinations, microchip, health certificate, and heartworm test.
