Story
Filly was born 11/12/2012 and was sold to us 03/08/2013. We purchased her from the Clearbrook Kennels in Sumas Wa. Her side kick is our long-haired Dachsund and they get along very well. Filly is the alpha dog and "everything is all about her". She is very protective of me and follows me everywhere. She loves to be on my lap and is very affectionate with me. She is full of energy and loves any opportunity to run freely. She is house trained and sleeps in a crate at night. She travels well in a car and our motorhome. She doesn't chew on the furniture or get into mischief when left alone at home. Filly does have some behavior traits that are making it necessary to find a new home for her. Like a lot of dogs she will bark at the sound coming from the other side of the fence. She has a high pitched bark that triggers our neighbor's PTSD. She is also so protective of me that she gets jealous when anyone comes near me. She barks at whoever comes to the house and has nipped at strangers.

Story
Please help save Zoey, she needs a good home and can offer you a lot, she brings much joy to our life, loves to cuddle and actually gives hugs. We are challenged as she does not get along with our golden, but she and my poodle are best friends and sleep together. She has food aggression and possessiveness issues- so recommend not adopted with other pets and someone who has experience with training - there is hope for her with the right person. She has bonded with my son very strongly, and his friends. However, she gets very protective of him and won’t let me in the room without growling and snarling - I worry about her possessiveness around small kids, though Her first home had small children and they still come to visit her and she does fine, but she bit me before when I tried to remove her from a food situation with the big dog. I don’t want to have to surrender her or a place at risk of putting her down so please come help our little Zoey.

Story
Animal Profile: Lucky is an adorable female rat terrier/chihuahua mix who was surrendered to a high kill shelter, along with her buddy Bei Bei, because their family was moving and was unable to take them along. Lucky is an overall easygoing girl who is sweet but a little shy at first, and would enjoy having another canine companion around. She joined us in Seattle on 3/15 and we'll post more info as she settles in. Seattle Foster Update: Lucky has been with us a week and is coming out of her shell a bit. She likes to sit on her bed and watch the action of our household go by! She’s fine in her crate and sleeps well through the night without any accidents. On walks she does well on quiet streets, but is frightened of loud noises and busier traffic. At the moment she definitely prefers a quieter environment! Lucky pretty much ignores animals like bunnies and squirrels… she just watches them, so she’ll probably be fine with cats. She walks nicely with our resident dog but sometimes does some resource guarding of me in our home, so we’re working on that. She doesn’t do any resource guarding of food though, and waits for me to present her with her meal. And she’s gaining confidence on stairs! We haven’t seen her playing yet, but she follows me around and comes when she’s called about 50% of the time. She’ll do well with someone who can patiently help build her confidence. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $475 which includes spay/neuter, current rabies/DAPPV/bordetella vaccinations, microchip, health certificate, and heartworm test. All adoption fees are donations to a Washington non-profit corporation and all donations go to benefit the animals in our rescue.  Apply online at www.DogGoneSeattle.org Animal History: This dog was rescued from euthanasia at a high-kill shelter in California and will be available for adoption in Seattle, once evaluated in a loving foster home in the greater Seattle area.

Story
Animal Profile: Jack is an adorable 2-year-old male rat terrier/chihuahua mix who was just rescued from a high-kill shelter. In his foster home, Jack is an absolute sweetheart. He does great around his humans (kids too) and does well around their small resident pup. He is potty trained, and we are working on his crate training - he does get anxious when his foster family leaves the room, but we are working on this with him :) Jack was initially nervous on leash, but has greatly improved with his leash manners with some guidance and structure. We know he can continue to thrive on walks with a confident handler who can keep up with his leash manners. Jack is quite shy with new people, and needs some time and patience to learn he can trust before opening up. Once comfortable, he is a total love.  Seattle Foster Update: Jack is doing great! He just wants to snuggle and get belly rubs, and he gets along great with our dog and kids. His ears are amazing!
