Sweet Sadie's owner died and she is needs a new loving forever home. She has been loved dearly, living indoors with her own chair. Sadie might chase cats but she gets along well with other dogs, kids and adults. She also lived with other dogs so she is accustomed to being around other dogs. Sadie is about 4 years old and 75 pounds. Please help Sadie find the loving home she deserves. From her foster Mom: We are loving fostering Sadie. She’s so easy and she came pre-trained! She is extremely intelligent and expressive and has been through a lot for a four-year-old. You can see that she is sad. I bet she is wondering why she is being moved all around and where her owner is. She loves so much to be talked to and petted. She has the softest fur ever!!! Anyone would love her. She is incredibly peaceful and tolerant. She’s very friendly with our rescue dog, too. She loves the kids. I know she had her own chair in her house so I tried to make this little sette I have as comfortable as I could for her. She is so sweet, it breaks my heart for what she has been through. Surprisingly, she doesn’t really shed too much. She even let me clip her nails. I’m so glad I have Sadie with us to give her the love she deserves. I hope she is adopted by a great family ! Please understand that we are an animal shelter and thus unable to say whether the dogs are housebroken as they are not in homes. Jack is a great dog! He is 9 months old and full of life. He is up to date with all his shots. He is house trained and loves everyone he meets! He goes to doggy day care 2 times a week and great with other dogs. We hate to have to give him up but due to an ill family member moving in who is allergic to dogs we have no choice. A home with a fenced in yard is a requirement and kids that can keep up with his playfulness would be ideal

Story
Scarlett is a very active dog. She loves to play. Unfortunately, she's a little bigger than expected and plays a little rough for our 3 children and 3 rescue cats. We thought with proper training and attention, she'd learn to be a bit more gentle as she really is a loving dog. Unfortunately, she has not. She has not yet been spayed, we were told she wouldn't be ready for the procedure again until Mid-November. Between the holidays and our decision to rehome her, we have not done that yet. We really do love her and want what is best for her, unfortunately, it has come down to her needing a new home.

Story
Hound lovers, Kenya is hound to her core!  She's a Redbone Coonhound, about 7 years old and weighs ~60 lbs. She gets along with every dog we've introduced her to - really just ignores them in all honesty. Since she has such a strong hound drive, a fenced yard is mandatory (minimum 4 feet high). Hounds are known for taking off after a scent and getting lost, so we want to ensure she's got a secure area. She needs work on leash training so we are recommending working with a certified trainer on that as well as basic obedience training (though she does know sit & paw). Fortunately, she is VERY food motivated so that will make obedience training a breeze! She absolutely adores her foster parents & will charm the pants off the men in her life! She rides great in the car, so a ride out to the mountains for a long hike is right up her alley. All animals are up to date on vaccinations & dewormed. Please keep in mind we are a Rescue Group and most of our pups come to us with little or no background info regarding breed, eventual size, age or prior health issues. We rely on the expertise of our veterinarians and make estimates based on past experience. Also, when you're adopting from a Rescue, you should ask questions! You should always get shot/medication records and the rescue should have had the dog for a bit of time to check for disease. Take the time to educate yourself before adopting. They call me Leon. I’m a good-looking Redbone with big soulful eyes (so I’m told) who’s just looking for someone to love me in a long-term relationship. You see, when I love, I love completely but I need some time to get to know you. Can you give me some of your time? I promise to make it worth your while. I live at EHR’s kennel but one day a week my best friend brings me to his house to hang with him and his family. Those are the best days because I get to run & run & just stretch out my long legs. It just feels so good. And I have a canine buddy who runs & plays with me, too, along with a couple of teenaged boys. I mean, those are the happiest hours of my week. And they’ve helped me learn good house manners so when you find me – and I sure hope you do – you will be impressed by what a good dog I am. I’m housetrained and I don’t jump up on the furniture – I’ve even completed a dog obedience class. I have lots of energy and I love to play with toys. I’m a good listener and I’m eager to please – all I want to do is make you happy.  I’ve worked hard to become the dog I am today with a lot of help from my friends. I hope you’ll give me the chance to prove that I’m the right dog for you.
