Meet Roger! He is a 1.5-year-old Rhodesian Ridgeback blend. He weighs 66 pounds. Roger arrived at the shelter as an owner surrender in November 2019 due to them leaving the country and not knowing when they will be back. He was then adopted but recently came back into the shelter as a stray and his new owners did not come back to claim him. He may need continued work on house training, but with the help of a belly band and tether training, house training should be quick! He is not crate trained, although it was said that he was left in the crate often in his previous home. He is a smart dude, eager to please, and treat motivated! He knows to sit, down, stay, come, and kennel. Roger is an active boy! He will need a family that can maintain an active lifestyle and takes him out for adventure often! He LOVES going for walks but pulls hard on the leash. We recommend using a harness and work on leash training using positive reinforcement techniques only. He is still all puppy! He can be mouthy with his play and when he wants something - we recommend enrolling him in basic obedience training. It will take time, patience, and consistency, but we know he will excel and be one amazing companion! He is a little under socialized and has not been exposed to other animals, many new environments, or lots of new people. He is timid at first but tends to warm up quickly. He does well with older children and will need a home with kids over the age of 6. We will require a staff-assisted meet and greet with any dogs that may be in his potential forever home. He is up to date on vaccinations, micro-chipped, neutered and ready to go home! Come meet him today!

Is a little shy at first but with a few yummy treats is your best friend forever!  Best with older kids and adults.  MURRAY loves to play fetch and will drop the ball for you.  Loves water and will chase spraying water in the air.   Knows sit, stay and is house trained.   MURRAY will make an awesome hiking buddy or a very devoted companion.
