Story
Meet 2 year old 55 lb Lula. She needs an active, firm leader who understands the Catahoula nature with her strong treeing, baying and herding instincts. Researching the breed is beneficial and highly recommended. She is more than just a pretty dog. She does get along with dogs and can have a rough play style. She is driven to hunt and chase squirrels in the back yard as something we do for entertainment as well as mental stimulation. She can run next to a bicycle on a walky dog and harness to burn off energy and get her exercise. She was trained at Bark Avenue in Ankeny and made amazing progress. She is also kennel trained, housebroke and sits patiently and for her food until ""FREE"". Lula is truly in her element off leash in backwood trails recalled by her name. She is a natural born hunter but did have a cat at her previous home. Lula would probably do best in a home with older kids. She can be a little suspicious with strangers and does fine as long as the person doesn't lock eyes and lean over with a tentative stretched out hand over the head approach. She is a brave, courageous, confident dog with energy to spare. If you want an active, beautiful, devoted dog and can provide what she deserves and clearly understand the breed. Lula awaits. Her adoption fee is $200. Apply at www.foreverhomedogs.org to meet her!!All adoptions are $200 per dog which include spay/neuter, micro-chipped and up-to-date on required shots. Senior dogs, at our discretion, are adopted out at $100 per dog because we know they will have less time with your family and may eventually have more needs as they get older. But we feel these dogs deserve to live out the rest of their lives as part of a loving family.
