Story
We are in urgent need of a foster or foster to adopt home for 2 yr. old Millie. This beautiful girl has found herself in a shelter through no fault of her own. This beauty was found straying and has spent significant time in the shelter. She is a fun loving, affectionate girl who is beginning to suffer from stress at the shelter. The kind people at the shelter absolutely adore her and want nothing but the best for Millie. We are looking for a specific foster home because we wish to set Millie up for success. Millie is fearful of meeting strangers and needs her trusted person to introduce her to new people. Millie would prefer to meet new people with slow introduction. She will come to new people once she is comfortable and once she trusts you she will be your best friend. For this reason we are looking for a home with children 14 years or older. Millie is very food motivated and really wants nothing more than to have a secure and loving home where she can cuddle with her people. We are looking for a quiet home where there is not a lot of people coming and going. A rural home would be ideal As right now she is very reactive on leash to dogs and people. A large fenced in property is a must as this girl is young and energetic and needs her playtime. She would do well with a well mannered male doggy friend. No small animals or cats. Millie has a prey drive. We would prefer a home where someone is home more often than not. She will need a refresher on house-training which is why we prefer someone home to monitor and allow her to go out often at first. Millie is such a sweet girl and needs someone to give her the chance of her lifetime. If you think Millie would be a good fit for your active family, please fill in our on-line application at the top of the page. If you think you could help us, please come to our website and fill out the on-line adoption/foster application on the left. Our website is http://furkidsrescue.ca/dogs_adopt.html. Story
Meet the new and improved Orik! After several months of positive, regular training and life experiences, Orik is more settled and ready for a new family. He is still high energy & high drive and we must insist that his new family continue with his training exercises. He must have a fully fenced and secure yard. Although Orik is very affectionate with his people we do not recommend a family with children under 13 years, and no small pets (especially cats). He is a large and powerful dog and is not a candidate for dog parks. Orik is 2years old, neutered & up to date with vaccines. If you think you could help us with him, please come to our website and fill out the on-line adoption/foster application on the left. Our website is http://furkidsrescue.ca/dogs_adopt.html. Story
Meet Bubbles- ***In Foster- Visitation by Appointment Only*** Bubbles is an energetic and active 4 year old male Rottweiler. Bubbles likes to be outdoors and explore all the smells. He likes to play with his stuffed toys (which he loves to pieces!) but his favourite is to hang with his people. He is affectionate and eager to please, all 110 pounds of him! Bubbles thrives with an owner who is firm with him on his commands and who will set and reinforce boundaries and expectations. Once he bonds with you, he is trusting and affectionate. He is house trained and knows sit, and down and is working on heel. He needs positive reinforcement on his leash manners. Bubbles loves to sit outside in the grass and watch his foster mom garden. He loves walks and looks forward to these every day. On his walk, he is reactive to other dogs and bicycles. He is curious about people and barks at them. Bubbles has a torn ACL in his left rear leg. The veterinarian does not recommend that he have this repaired and it doesn't slow him down! We will connect any potential adopters with the veterinarian for a full discussion on his leg. Bubbles deserves a wonderful new home. We think that new home is with adults only and no other pets. His new owners should be experienced with large dogs and prepared to work with him to continue his training. He would love a home with a fully fenced yard so that he could spend time outside relaxing in the sun. He is calm in the home, rarely barks and can be left for extended periods of time. If you think you could give Bubbles the loving home he has been looking for for so long, please submit an adoption application and his adoption coordinator will be in touch to arrange a visit. If you have questions about Bubbles or the Adoption Process at EHS please email mgy.ehs@gmail.com
