Milla is actually a very affectionate girl if you give her the chance to get to know you and feel safe in her surroundings. She was very stressed in her previous home because of other cats AND dogs in the home. She absolutely prefers to be the only pet in her new home, where she can relax and set up her new territory to her specifications! She is stressed by other cats here at the shelter as well which is understandable, and when she is stressed she may seem a little grumpy and unsocial but she is truly a sweet girl. You just need to understand her personality and needs and to work with her. She was in her previous home for 7 years so this is all huge change for her and I'm sure you understand how it might take some time to settle in. She is absolutely worth the investment of your time and patience. She just wants a safe, quite, easy going home. She'll make a wonderful companion for someone just like her. Please come in and meet Milla and be open to someone who might not be exactly what you envisioned when you decided to adopt a new friend. She is talkative around people she knows but it is a soft, sweet little voice. I'll let her know you're coming in to say hello.......

Being here at the shelter is very stressful for Shadow and he is taking longer than his sister (who he originally came in with) to open up. He really likes hiding in his little cave bed where he peeks up over the edge to keep an eye on you. On occasion, he will come out of his bed in front of actual people and he he'll look like an oversized hermit crab dragging his shell/bed along behind him. It's pretty funny! Shadow enjoys some treats and wet food now and again. As you can see, he is a little chunky so only a few treats, though! He has finally begun to come out of his shell and say hi! Shadow is very affectionate and sweet when given the opportunity. He just needs someone patient, calm and gentle to help him feel safe and allow him to show his true personality. He has so much potential. According to his previously owner, he does NOT like dogs, so he need to go to a dog free home. He is very affectionate and sweet. Just be a little patient with him and you will see his potential!
