Meet our good boy, Pistachio!
Hi! My name is Pistachio and I’m a 5-year-old, neutered male Terrier mix weighing 40 lbs. I was rescued from the streets of Ensenada, and I’ve had a rough past full of fear and abuse, but through lots of love from my foster family, I am totally flourishing! I am completely potty trained and leash trained and a good boy in the house.
I LOVE the women in my life and will follow them around all over the house (to make sure they’re okay!). I used to be pretty scared of men, but I've grown much more comfortable with them, though I appreciate it if they approach me slowly since I'm a shy guy. I do fine around kids too if they respect my space, but can get startled if they're running up to me, and I might not like to live with them full time. My tough background has made me a little timid, but I get so much comfort from being around another confident dog. I look to my foster brother when something makes me nervous, and if he is is acts like everything is fine, I feel much better! My ideal home would have access to a yard – I am much happier being outside than trapped in a house all day. I love to snuggle, so if you need someone next to you while you watch Disney+ then I’m your man! Another activity I can’t get enough of is playing ball – any kind will do, even a Kong! While I am curious about cats, my fosters cannot say for sure if I would like one for a roommate. I really just want a nice warm home with toys, food, and a family to give me the happily ever after I deserve.
The Animal Pad says that I am truly what rescue is all about. That I am the epitome of what an abused dog can overcome and how much love and hope they can still have. If you love me and shower me with your attention, then in return I will give you love and appreciation that is so genuine and pure it will melt your heart. I seriously can’t wait to meet you! I hope you give me a chance and I will show you all my love with snuggles and kisses! An adults-only home with access to a yard and another dog my size would be ideal for me.
