Story
Meet Aquarius AC Trick or Treat. How about both? And I am not talking ‘bout Howloweenie. Me and my Mommy and all my siblings were living at a gas station. I didn’t know it at the time, but ‘upposedly, living at a gas station is very sad. Some sneaky, but well meaning, ladies set up a cage and put treats in there. My Mommy was trapped first, then they had to collect all of us babies. My Mommy is a fluffy red dog with super puffy cheeks named Nutmeg, she weighs 35 pounds a Sharpei/Chow mix. My Father might have been a yellow Labrador because that is what I most favor. I am shaping up to likely be bigger than my Mommy, maybe 40 pounds. I am a boy doggie and a strawberry muffin with my berry pretty strawberry blonde coat. The volunteer says I am a real hunk muffin. I don’t know about all that *blushes a little*. At my Foster House I hang out with 3 older big dogs, a 30 pound dog and my sister Libra. I am submissive and playful with them. Sometimes I bark at other dogs, it just depends on how they look at me and the vibe I feel, but most of the time, I like them. I like to be one of the dogs and do activities with dogs. I always follow the lead of my pack mates. I like pack walks and runs on a leash, a tight leash! Due to my scared feelings, I would do best with older kids, not small kids that might scare me back into my shell. I love being in my crate, I feel safe in there. I am pretty much potty trained. I might do a scared tinkle on occasion, but not too often. I am making HUGE strides with my scared feelings and learning to be more outgoing and comfortable every day. You can’t really be scared of humans because they know where the food is. And I like food. I even hang out by my Foster Mom’s feets sometimes and get excited when she has a toy. I like toys. I like my Foster Mom better than my Foster Dad. I am making faster progress coming out of my shell because I am food muttivated. I am not afraid to beg! I will even take food from complete strangers. When Foster Mom is cooking, I will stand up on my hind legs and do a really cute face. Heck, I might be shy, but I am not stupid, I know this cute face will get me a yummy nibble. I love human food sooooo much, sometimes I try to steal it right off Foster Mom’s fork. Ha ha, she says that isn’t nice, but lets me get away with it, for progress sake. All in the name of progress. Food isn’t the only thing I chew on. I love to chew on toys or other items. If anything is near my crate, I will chew it. Sometimes my Foster Mom catches my sister red handed or red pawed as she grabs an item for us to nibble on. I do join in on nibbling stuff with my sister, cuz I am a team player and a good brother, not a bad boy. If Foster Mom says “stop chewing” I usually stop. Usually. I like outdoor time. I run the fence to chase and bork at squirrellssssss. Sometimes I run the fence to bork at the neighbor’s dog, it is a no no no. But it feels fun fun fun. I am looking for a home with lots of patience, pepperonis and perhaps another dog that can help me continue my work on my confidence level. Do you want to be that person with the pepperonis? GOD'S DOGS Rescue, in San Antonio TX, does not have a shelter. Our puppies are raised in foster homes in the San Antonio area. Each pup comes spayed or neutered, up-to-date with age appropriate vaccinations, micro-chipped, heartworm tested if not started on heartworm preventatives already, and are current with monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. ALL OF THIS IS INCLUDED IN THE ADOPTION FEE OF $500 for puppies under a year old, which also includes the cost of transportation to the assigned location. Medical records accompany each dog at the time of delivery and may be emailed to adopter prior to dog arrival if desired. Microchips will be automatically registered to the new owner after payment of adoption fee. The registration site we use is Michelson Found Animals which is free to use and update during the lifetime of your pet. Please allow 24-48 hours for the new information to appear on the website. Story
Meet Silky JuM The humans named me Silky and that was really sweet considering Wrinkly could have been a contender. I looked like a 3 year old toddler playing dress up in his Father’s khakis when I was first found. A pile of chestnut wrinkles covering a skeletal frame. A basketball with the air let out. I was litterally skin and bones. I found a local restaurant to hang outside of and beg for scraps. Please sir, do you have anymore??? I was so adorable and pathetick at the same time. One person did me one better and took me to a Foster Home so I could fatten up in style. I am quite enjoying being cared for in such a kind manner. I am a female Shar Pei doggie about 4 years old and 60 pounds now. I have impeccable manners, no jumping, no arfing, and I walk smoothly on a leash, oh the irony of being smooth is so many ways. I adore humans, get along fine with dogs and even know not to bother the cats other than the requisite booty sniff. You will have to wait about a month before I can move in with you, till March or so. I tested positive for Erlichia. That sounds fun right? Positive is a good word right? Erlichia…sounds like “I lick ya”. Sound good right? Nope, that is a disease spread by ticks. Yuck. I am on some medicines called anti bioticks, the anti tick meds, for a month to clear up this tick borne nonscents. GOD'S DOGS Rescue, in San Antonio TX, does not have a shelter. Story
Meet Chevy Jum My name is Chevy and just like Chevy Chase in all of those National Lampoon’s Vacation films, I too took a road trip, but unlike Mister Chase, I didn’t have a family with me. Or at cool station wagon either. I was hitchhiking by patamobile all by my lonesome. I was several pounds underweight and all my ribs could be counted. I should be a 50 pound guy, but started off about 35 pounds. I am told I am a male *glances down under neath*, yep, 2 years old *rubs his tongue along his teeth*, yep, Chinese Shar Pei dog *wrinkles his already wrinkled brow*, yep, maybe a mix, but who knows with what. I have the teeny ears folding down tightly on the top of my noggin like a hanky in a suit pocket. A tail tail sign of a Shar Pei, plus I a furrowed brow even when there is nothing to be furrowing about. On human faces the wrinkles in between the brows are called WTF lines, which I hear ladies whisper to themselves often. In dog WTF means Where’s The Food. Due to my days of spending time on my own and having to actually hunt for food and doing a poor job of it. Like where do sammiches live even???? I tend to be a hangry eater and have to be fed sepawrately from the other dogs here. This may pass over time, but for now, be prepared to set me up a sepawrate dining zone. Other than my meal time ‘bouts of hunger flashbacks, I am typically, a friendly, happy, playful guy. I don’t bit any fingers off and take treats gently. I wait patiently for my turn at treats. I live with a small female dog and a large female dog and I never squabble with them, they are my friends. I am great on a leash and crate trained. I enjoy attention and hugs and ear scritches. So what do you say, do you want to be my road trip family? GOD'S DOGS Rescue, in San Antonio TX, does not have a shelter. Our dogs are raised in foster homes in the San Antonio area. Carlton here! I am a 3-year-old Shar-Pei mix weighing 55#. I am ready to be your protector and best friend! Shar-Peis are dominant and territorial by nature, so my behaviors are “normal” considering my breed. I am always alert and on guard, but have no problem approaching and cuddling up with people! I love belly rubs and give thee best and most slobbery of kisses. My forever home should have older kids, a physical fenced in yard, and and no other pets.

Meet Romi!Romi is a 3 year old Shar Pei mix with quite possibly the cutest set of ears you'll ever see! This social butterfly loves to meet new people. Romi is crate trained, house trained, and travels well in the car. She lived with children in her last home and loved all of them!"Romi has been a great dog to foster through Animal Friends Humane Society. She loves everyone and wants to meet everybody. She loves a short easy game of tug rope and watching the neighborhood from the back rear sliding window in the sun. We call her Tender-Romi, since she has such a tender and sweet personality. She is very photogenic and is easy to give a bath too. Romi enjoys giving affection and cuddling, while also having time to herself. Your heart will melt by her welcoming you home with a leaning paw lift. She will make a great addition to any family who would adopt her."Romi does like being the queen of her castle and must be the only pet in the home, but don't let that stop you! She will bring a smile to your face and she will melt your heart when you first meet her.

Story
Introducing Squirrley I have to admit, it isn’t easy being named after most dog’s arf nemesis. It’s like naming a cat Mousey. Or naming a sheep, Wolfy. Or nick naming a Vampire, Sunshine. The only thing worse might have been to name me *gasp* Mailman, Amazon Delivery Dude or UPS Lady. All sworn enemies of the canines by oath of law. Truffly though, I really don’t mind the name. I am just happy to not be living on my own and actually have an identity. I was rescued by a Street Dog Rescuer after being dumped on the side of the road wrapped in a shower curtain and old bedspread. I was skin and bones. That was a sad day for me to be treated like garbage. There is a light at the tunnel. My saddest day opened the door to what will be my best day. The DAY YOU ADOPT ME!! I am a female 5 year old Boxer mix weighing in about 30 pounds. The best way to remember that I am a female is to remember that squirrelly rhymes with girly. It also rhymes with Shirley, but surely you knew that. You are a smart human right? I am an intelligent girl too. I am being a good girl around all the other dogs at the rescue camp. I don’t beg or seek attention, but when the Rescue Lady talks to me, I stop to listen. She stops to watch my ears wiggle to catch her voice. I have the best ears on campus. I love that the humans talk to me. It is just so refreshing to have someone pay attention to little ole me. I come when called because not only does this Rescue Lady pay me with attention, she has been known to also pay me in a dog desired currency, weenies. So do you want to be the lucky person that provides me with my BEST DAY EVER???? If so, please fill out an application. GOD'S DOGS Rescue, in San Antonio TX, does not have a shelter. Story
Meet Bradley JuM Need a shoulder to cry on? White dogs tend to get adopted quicker than brindle fellas, but brindle dogs are much better for wiping snot and mascara on. Say you are watching a Bradley Cooper movie, A Star is Born, try blowing your nose and wiping that on a white dog, what a mess. Me, blends right in. Camuttflauge for any type of dirt, secretion, or just a good place to wipe the Cheeto dust off your finger tips. *cronch cronch, oh, you were planning to share the Cheetos, right????* I might won’t pass the white glove test, but I will pass the Good Boy Test. I am happy with everyone. I love all other dogs. I do have the hunky 50 pound athletic frame of a Boxer, but I am not SHALLOW, my personality is poochy keen. I am so vibrant for a 4 year old, Foster Mom keeps asking me, “did you find the fountain of youth”, nope, but if you show me to a tree, I can show you a fountain. *he he he, I crack me up* I was rescued from the local muttnicipal shelter on the dreaded last day, so there was a silver lining in my playbook. I am getting up to speed on both potty and crate training and leash walking. Whether it is to a crash a wedding, support you during a hangover, or just be a general Kleenex during the latest rom com or romedy or dramady or any other movie colab, I am ready to hustle!
