Mavis is a 4 year old Chinese Shar-Pei/Shepherd mix that is waiting for her new home! She is looking for someone that has lots of love and patience to give. While Mavis can be nervous around new people, after a slow meeting, she enjoys the company of kids and new people. Once Mavis calls you her friend she likes to give kisses and hugs. After a dog to dog meeting, which we can provide at our shelter, Mavis does well with other dogs but is a pretty independent spirit. Mavis is working on proper leash manners and is learning quick! Hi, my name is Rufus. Guess what? I am available for adoption! Yes, someone actually tied me to the fence at Angel's Vet. Maybe they fell on hard times and couldn't feed me anymore; maybe they had to move to a place that didn't accept pets; who knows. All I know is that their loss can be your gain if you don't let this opportunity slip away. I'm a friendly and active dog but kind of particular about which other dogs I like to hang out with. That's why I would do better in a home with no other dogs. I do like some dogs so if you have other dogs a meeting is a must. Under the right circumstances, we could all be the best of friends!
