Mavis Moonpie is just 1 year and 45lbs. We pulled Mavis from our local shelter on 4/2/20. Our adoption fees help to provide a portion of the care that we provide our animals. Prior to adoption, all of our animals are altered, vaccinated, microchipped, tested for heartworm (dogs), and placed on a monthly preventative, in addition to other necessary treatments. Adoption Center Hours:  Tuesday - Friday:: 12-6p.m. &#226&#128&#139Saturday:: 11-4p.m.   At FCHS, we commit to our animals; for this reason, all of our animals have a lifetime commitment from us. If an adoption does not work out, for any reason, we ask that all FCHS animals be returned to our facility.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hi … my name is BJ and here are some things you need to know about me!  After you read through my bio, if you think I might be the perfect pup for you, please go to www.allamericanmuttrescue.org/forms and complete your adoption application online. Oh BJ … he is such a shar-pei!  He is sweet and loving and stubborn and just a hot mess … as most shar-peis are.  He is uncharacteristically friendly when meeting new humans, and he meets most other pups (similar to his size) well.  He does play a little too rough to be around smaller dogs unsupervised.  BJ is not an alpha dog but he will not tolerate being bullied by a true alpha.  He was picked up as a stray and taken to ‘doggy jail’ but no owner ever came looking for him, so he came to AAMR to let us help find him a great new forever family.  We are looking for a great family with shar-pei experience. If you love the shar-pei breed, it will take you only a second to fall in love with this boy.  Approximate age/birthdate:  ~ April 2014 Weight/size: ~50 lbs Housebroken:  YES Crate trained:  YES Personality: shar-pei stubborn, shar-pei smart, loving, great kisser Energy level:  medium with bursts of high Fenced yard required?:   YES … this boy loves to get outside and explore off-leash Does he/she jump fences?  NO Leash walk with manners:  He is getting better!  He is strong and will still pull, but he is improving.  A non-pull harness is a great tool to help teach him better leash manners. Obedience training:  He knows ‘sit,’ ‘give kisses,’ and ‘kennel’ (and he is treat-motivated) Riding in vehicles:  RIDES OK      Spayed/neutered:   YES Up-to-date on routine vaccinations:   YES Microchipped:   YES Social with other dogs:  YES  … does best with medium or large dogs.  He cannot be left unsupervised with small dogs. Social with cats:  Very curious about cats and would definitely chase them.  Not sure what he would do if he caught one, so best bet is NO CATS Good with children:  Will be best with respectful children ages 10 and up.  His size and energy would be a lot for smaller, younger children. Adoption donation:  $250 We are an all-volunteer group, so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions and home visits.  You can expedite the process by providing accurate email addresses for all your references.  Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have multiple applications in process.  We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible. When your application is approved, we will schedule a home visit/meet-and-greet to see if BJ picks you too. If it seems that the adoption will be a good match for all, there is an adoption fee, and an adoption contract to be signed.
