Wow! Life has brought so many changes to me lately. Thankfully they are good changes, but just wow! You see, I came from a hoarding situation. There were over 40+ dogs on the property, and we could pretty much roam wherever we wanted too. I did not get much socialization, but we did get fed well. My owner finally asked for help, and some awesome people have started going out and catching us. I was one of the first to be caught. I was pretty nervous at first. This rescue stepped up for me, and before I knew it I was headed to my new start at life.
I was given the name Kona and have some very beautiful markings. I am about 8 months old right now. Looking at me, you would think I am a Great Pyrenees/Anatolian
mix, but I only weigh 32lbs and won't be getting much bigger. So your guess on my breed is as good as mine! I am still getting used to being inside and part of the family. While I am still nervous, I am also more of a in your face clingy type girl. I love to follow you around, and if I see you loving on another dog I come running up wanting some too! I can still be scared when you come walking up to me, but with patience and a calm/sweet voice I come running back if you are on the ground.
I do walk on the leash pretty well and do good on car rides. I think I would be a really good dog to take places with in time. I may be shy or nervous at first, but all I need is some socialization and I think I will be a new dog in a few months! I have not attempted to chew on anything in my foster home, and am not a barker. I am working on my potty training, and have not needed to be kenneled. I am good with other dogs, and would do best in a home that has another outgoing and friendly dog! I am good with cats, and would probably do well with kids that are on the calmer/gentle side.
I am looking for a patient family. While I have come around quickly in a short time, I still need someone that knows that I was never loved on for the first couple months of my life. I am learning quickly, but I also need time. I very much still have a puppy personality, so it would be best that my new home already knows that I may have some accidents in the house or get into things. My personality starts to shine a little more each day, and it is easy to tell that I will make someone an amazing companion! I am just such a happy and smiling girl, that is eager to learn what having a family of my own feels like!
My adoption fee is $225 and that will include my vaccinations, spay, and micro-chip. I did test positive for demodex mange, but have gotten a Nexgard which will take care of those mites. I will also be current on my heart-worm and flea/tick prevention.
