My foster mom says I have soft, silky, pettable fur, a sheltie or shepherd shaped nose, and a slim, racy build. Whatever mix I am, I’m a handsome young doggie! I’m looking for the perfect match – a family that has lots of time for me, loves to do fun things, but also loves to snuggle on the couch, and a doggie friend to pal around with. Does that sound like your family? I’d love to meet you! And now, a few words from my foster mom: Meet Joey – a young, energetic, enthusiastic dog who wants to be the centre of attention. He loves his people, but also seems to be most comfortable with a companion dog, so a family who has another playful, friendly dog is recommended. He enjoys initiating play time and having a fun game of chase. Joey would love to have a fenced backyard to run and play in – he chases his foster sister around and around the yard and launches himself off the deck. Once he has burned off his energy, he loves to snuggle up with his people on the couch. He is just starting to show interest in toys, and enjoys his antler chews. Joey is learning all the basics about being a good dog – he is mastering his potty training and does very well when kept on a strict schedule and given plenty of opportunities to go outside. He is quick to sound the alarm when he hears strange noises, so apartment living is not recommended. He is initially a bit suspicious of new people, but warms up quickly, and will readily approach them for petting and attention. He is still learning to walk on a leash, so will need some guidance and practice. If you are looking for an entertaining and affectionate little companion with plenty of energy to keep up with you and then relax when you want, look no further. Joey can’t wait to meet you!
