Story
Leo is an amazing dog. He's captured all of our hearts. He knows how to sit, lay down, jump on his back legs, touch (his nose to your palm), shake, and he's slowly learning to rollover. He is playful and smart. He adores walking and chasing balls. He also loves to lounge in the sun and take naps. Leo is looking for a home that doesn't have another dog. He was from a family before us that abused him in ways that we do not know. Because of this, he sometimes gets confused and lashes out because he thinks people/things are going to hurt him. He is hugely responsive to training and love, but we don't have the time we need to provide that for him. We hope you love him as much as we have. Please, this pup is worth the world.

Story
Meet Marisol. This girl is sweet and loving. When we found Marisol she had distemper, after a lot of TLC she is now healthy and ready for her forever home. Because she is a distemper survivor sometimes when she runs her front legs will give. There’s no treatment or therapy needed. Marisol is medium to high energy so she would do best in a home with older kids (10+), and dogs her size or smaller. She does not like cats. Marisol is a sweet girl that loves to play and walks well on a leash. She lives indoors but has access to the backyard. If interested please submit your application at www.drwb.org. Submitting an application is a must and the order in which they arrive is considered in the adoption process.

Story
Meet Haiku! Haiku was adopted from the South LA shelter as a puppy and then surrendered back 13 years later as a senior. How upside-down her world must feel? Haiku is head shy because she doesn't see 100% and hands reaching towards her startles her. When we approach her slowly, and even the longer she is here at FFF, she gains our trust and allows us to pet her softly. She is otherwise pretty healthy! When we scoop poop in the yard, she follows closely behind and does nose boops into our calves. Haiku goes on sauntering walks and is a loyal companion when she tags along on wine tastings. She seems house broken because she always keeps her kennel clean overnight. Haiku does well with other dogs, but does prefer to have her own space. She is a "medium" dog in height, but is less than 25 lbs so she would fit most apartment pet policies. Haiku will make an excellent, non-judgemental companion, if you promise not to judge her, too! Haiku went on a 2-week Frosted Fling and we got some great insight into how she behaves in the home! Haiku is a good eater, but prefers dinner to breakfast and mostly just picks in the morning. Doesn't she know breakfast is the most important meal of the day?? Haiku was housebroken in her Fling home and even slept through the whole night without an additional midnight potty break. She gets around pretty well for a teenaged dog and even kept up with younger dogs on walks. Occasionally she would get spurts of energy and play chase with her Fling mom! Haiku can coexisting peacefully with other animals, but prefers to have her own space for eating and sleeping. She does well in the crate and seemed to appreciate having her own space to go to when she needed a break from any commotion. She is an old lady after all! Haiku takes a little time to warm up to new people, but she does enjoy human attention once she gets to know you. She would really flourish with a family who allows her the time and space to warm up at her own pace! Her Fling family says, "In the two weeks she lived with me, Haiku totally changed! She does not love being woken up (who does?!) but other than that, she let me do anything with her! She let me cut her nails, put sweaters on her, carry her, hug her, towel her off, etc. She attended my mom's annual Christmas party where she met lots of new people and did great! She loves following people around and would watch my mom load the dishwasher intently. Haiku is a really sweet girl, she is not the most affectionate dog, but when you earn her trust it is very rewarding. She is a great size, quiet, potty trained, mellow... She may not be the dog who will run up to you wagging her tail when you get home, but she also won't chew anything up or bark while you are at work! She will bond with you but it will take time. After tow weeks, she would follow me around and even licked my hand which made my heart swell! I think that her personality will continue to blossom as she gains more confidence and once she has the stability of a family. She is a great dog!" Haiku lives in a foster home. Please submit an application to schedule an appointment to meet her!   Visit us at Open House: Saturdays & Sundays, 10 am - 1 pm CANCELLED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE DUE TO COVID-19 Learn more about our programs at www.frostedfacesfoundation.org/family. Story
Please review our Adoption Process before filling out an application.Meet Smiley!Smiely is NOT available for adoption yet as she is a medical case since she was exited from a local SD shelter in early February. She is currently scheduled for a specialist exam on 2/19 to determine if her mass will be able to be removed or what form of action we can take. We are hopeful she will be adoptable. For now, we need a foster home to help us through medical/vet appts. She has a foster for the first 2 weeks since we exited her from the shelter and they LOVE her sweet, loving personality. She is great with people, dogs and cats. House and crate trained. SHe entered the shelter as an over the counter turn in from someone who said they 'found her'. Sadly, she has a VERY large  watermelon size mass on her back leg and she was already spayed previously so, as of now, tests from blood work, chest xrays, and FNA from her mass indicate it's benign, which is excellent news! We just need to figure out how to remove it and hope the specialist is able to do so. We will need a foster starting 2/20 for this sweet girl and all her vet apts are in the UTC- Mission Valley area. To meet this girl, please submit an application at arwob.orgWe are hopeful she will be available for adoption in mid March. Don't wait...Submit an adoption application today!    DOG ADOPTION APPLICATIONVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.
