Story
This guy's name is Foxx. He is a 2.5 year old Shiba Inu mix that has the softest coat I've ever felt! His name is quite fitting because he truly does look just like a red fox with a little box nose. Low energy. Never barks. Non-destructive in the house when left alone. Good with other dogs but doesn't participate in play just observes. Fine around cats. Enjoys being in his crate. No accidents in the house. Gorgeous, docile, & gentle natured but also extremely shy &timid. Loud noises & fast movement startle him. Thus would thrive best in a quiet low traffic home. He is a very special case. Wouldn't know at first glance but Foxx had a rough start to life. That being said he needs a particular kind of person with plenty of patience & the willingness to help him open up, gain confidence, accept love & trust again. Although it will take extra time & effort this boy definitely deserves a second chance, would be forever grateful & is completely worth it! The adoption fee is $130 and includes spay/neuter, vaccinations, microchip with life-long free registration, deworming, negative heart worm test for dogs over 6 months. Due to COVID-19 we will be scheduling individual appointments for adoptions. Please fill out an application and we will contact you. You can fill out an application on our website, newhoperescue.homestead.com by clicking on the animal's picture and then clicking on the adoption application button.

Story
Conrad has come so far in his short time at National Mill Dog Rescue. When he first came to us in February of 2020, he was cowering and shaking in the corner. However, he is now slowly learning to trust people. He has gotten to the point where he is actually asking for love! He stands at the front of his kennel and greets people who walk by. If you are familiar with the Shiba Inu breed, and would love to show this young boy what it means to be in a safe and loving home, please fill out an adoption application at milldogrescue.org- - - - - -Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have experienced minimal socialization. As a result, there is often an adjustment period when learning about life as a family pet. We typically do not adopt to homes with children under 6 years old; homes with older children will be considered on an individual basis. Common skills such as house training and leash walking will often take a little extra time. Patience, understanding and a gentle hand are a must. The great news is, most of these dogs come around rather quickly and being a part of their rehabilitation is an extremely rewarding experience. Story
Auburn is quite the shy girl. She needs to go to a home with a patient family who knows the Shiba Inu breed. Auburn isn't quite what to make of this life at National Mill Dog Rescue. Our volunteers have so much love to give to her, but she would still rather hide in the corner and under furniture than to trust people. Auburn is a major flight risk and we will require that she goes to a home with at least a six foot privacy fence. If you are interested in Auburn and have the special home that she is looking for, please fill out an adoption application at milldogrescue.org- - - - - -Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have experienced minimal socialization.
