Story
Say hello to Mr. Hochi! Hochi is approximately 7 years old and weighs 26 pounds. His current owner is needing to rehome him due to her personal health issues. Hochi is a total sweetheart and a social butterfly. He loves company! He will sit on the arm of your recliner so you can pet him until HIS heart’s content (which may be a while...) At night, he sleeps at the foot of his owner’s bed. Hochi enjoys car rides, playing with his plush toys, and spending time with his human. He is a “favorite” at the grooming salon... they all love him! Hochi does have some separation anxiety, so his current owner recommends crating him while no one is home so he doesn’t have an accident. Hochi would do best in a home with no small children and he would prefer a mom/dad who works from home, is retired, or is just home a lot in general! He has been an only child for the past 4 years and he is just fine with that. If you are interested in adding Hochi to your family, please go to www.goofyfootrescue.org to complete an online adoption application. Hochi is currently being fostered in Pennsylvania. Transport will be arranged once his adoption is finalized.

Story
Hi my name is Maxwell -- Max for short.  I am a senior southern gentleman of 13 years and I weigh about 12 lbs.  I have blossomed since coming to my foster home and am now ready to find my forever home.  I arrived a frail little thing with my bones sticking out, my fur in bad shape and I had a mouth full of nasty teeth.  All that is behind me now and I am a happy go lucky boy.  I have several senior buddies in my foster home and we all get along just fine.  It is nice to hang out and relax with them.  However I also love to smell and stroll around our fenced in yard.  I also enjoy going places with my foster mom and making new friends with other dogs and with people.  I am a social guy who does not meet a stranger.  I have learned to walk on a leash and I love to go.  I have also learned when it is time to eat and am a bit demanding when I try to 'patiently' wait for my breakfast or dinner.  It is kinda cute but a little noisy.  I am a very sweet boy who is looking for a forever mom and/or dad that just wants to take care of and love me for the rest of my life.  I come with a lot of love to give you in return.  I am a great little cuddle buddy and would love the opportunity to snuggle with you and watch TV and also snuggle right beside you when it is time to go to bed.  If you are looking for a loyal companion who is on the older side but still has a lot of life to live then you have found him.  My foster mom Miss Dawn and Miss Vivienne will confirm that there is nothing better than the love of a senior shih tzu.  If you have experience with senior dogs especially shih tzus please consider adding me to your family.  I am patiently waiting to hear from you.  Max is neutered, current on all his shots and microchipped.  To be considered for his forever family please contact Vivienne at viviennejames@comcast.net or 615-943-7311.  APPROVED APPLICATION AND ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED.  (Max is currently in Tennessee and can be transported north upon adoption.  Due to state regulations we are unable to adopt to residents of MA and RI.)
