Brook has the brightest smile! He will smile often when he’s with his people, or when he’s playing and running in the yard. He walks well on a leash, enjoys a good stroll, is crate trained and good in the car. This sassy guy will need a savvy, experienced, and patient dog person in his life to help him with basic training . Brook needs to know that he has a friend in his corner helping him to be the confident pup we know he can be. He will thrive in a quiet adults only home.Brook is a 2 year old Shi Tzu who is neutered, microchipped, heart worm free and up to date on all vaccines. Story
Sweetie Pie was in a shelter after being found as a stray. She suffers from severe neglect. Her fur was matted to her skin, it took us 5 hours to shave her down and get her bathed. Her eyes were so crusted we had to soak them to get the chunks of debris to just start coming off. The shelter felt she was not an adoptable pup so they were set to euthanize her the next morning when we got called to ask if we would consider taking her in. One look at her silly face and we had to get her to safety to see what we could do for her. Sweetie Pie is blind in both eyes and will have a vet evaluation in a few days. We don't know if she will need to have them removed yet, but there is a very big chance they will need to be. Sweetie is slow to trust and who can blame her, but once she knows she's safe in your arms she is a sweetheart. Because of her vision loss she needs to be spoken to before you pick her up or go to pet her. She gets scared otherwise. I would be too if someone just grabbed at me. Sweetie is 10+ years old and weighs approx 7 to 9 lbs. She will have a beautiful coat once it grows a bit and she is eating a healthy diet now. She suffers from a condition called crate foot where an animal has been caged in a small area for so long that their feet start to bend in an abnormal manner. This gets better with time. Her nails had also grown into the pads of her feet and because of that she needs to step lightly until she's used to touching the ground. Sweetie has a great appetite and loves her food. She wakes right up when we come to feed her. Sweetie will not be in a home with young children as she is delicate and we don't feel comfortable having her in a very active atmosphere. She deserves a lap and love for the rest of her days. We think she will have a very happy life in the proper environment. Sweetie is located in Freeport NY Her adoption fee is $400
