All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated and microchipped.  * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. Our adoption fee is $400-$800. if a biography does not otherwise say then it is $400. We will also post at the end of the evening the names of those dogs who have been adopted: www.facebook.com/DPSRescueAdoption Fee: $400 Molly is a 12 year old Shih Tzu. She's a petite little gal at about 10lbs. She has a non-shedding coat that is an option for those with allergies or those who just want a dog who doesn’t shed. But work comes along with this glorious coat and she will need regularly grooming. She was a rescue with her daughter Mabel when their family was giving them away.  Molly is the sweetest girl you will ever meet. She won’t declare her love to you immediately but give her a day you will will be receiving kisses and lots of cuddles from her! She’s affectionate, gentle, calm and super cuddly.  She is fostered with 3 dogs and 1 cat. She gets along great with everyone but she is intimidated by the energy of the young lab in her foster. So if there’s a dog in her forever home, the best match would be a mellow and well mannered dog that isn’t looking to play as she’s past that stage in her life.  She currently sleeps in her foster moms bed at night and her foster mom often finds her sleeping on her head when she wakes up. Molly loves to be snuggled up against you. She is not very food motivated but LOVES Bixbi pocket trainers the peanut butter flavor. She goes bananas for those treats. Now you didn’t hear this from me but she’s also a big popcorn fan.  She is a little model and loves to wear clothes, dresses, sweaters, jackets, you name it and she’s worn it. She’s a very mellow girl and sleeps majority of the day. She won’t require much exercise and potty  walks are enough for this girl.  Molly is doing great on leash and potty training. If she’s taken out regularly she’s accident free. Molly is learning to use the dog door but it’s a little scary, so she will need some further guidance if her forever home plans to use a dog door. Molly has so much personality! Her foster mom cannot stop telling everyone how amazing she is.  Molly requires regular drops for dry eye which is typical for Shih Tzu's. She had an ear infection which we treated. She had a dental. And other than that, she is in great shape, healthy and ready to live out a long happy life with her new people. Molly is an option for a variety of homes from novice to experienced. She's an easy going gal. She is not a kid's dog per se. If there are children they need to be calm, relaxed kids over the age of 10. It's not an age issue for her as much as it is just not into the crazy small kid energy.

We are however doing adoptions by appointment only. If you are interested in a dog, please fill out an application as this is the only way we can consider your home at this time.  Cody is a 3 year old Shih Tzu-Pug mix who came to us from the shelter. He is overall a mellow boy who gets burst of energy when it’s time to go for an adventure. Once he’s comfortable he is a spunky happy go lucky dog. He loves to go for walks, they are one of his favorite things to do.  Cody has met multiple dogs since entering the rescue. He has started to enjoy playing with his canine friends and he's gained confidence with them. He is an excellent option to join a home that has another dog. If the dog is playful, Yay! If the dog isn't, that's ok with him too. He just likes the company. He gets overwhelmed in dog park settings, so he's more of a homebody type. He could be an option for a retired couple that is dog savvy and/or has a dog of their own. Cody loves loves loves toys. He has a 'play session' every morning. His favorite toy is the plushy moose toy. But he does not discriminate. He likes all toys. So get the toy box ready for our boy. If you are looking for an affectionate dog who doesn't need to be on your lap but likes to be close and receiving affection, that's our boy. He has not proven to be a barker. He would be an option for those who live in an apartment. The only time his foster mom has heard him bark was when he saw his reflection. He will bark if he's allowed to sit in the window and watch people coming and going out of the house. But otherwise he's not a barker. Cody is a dog for a home that doesn't have a steady stream of people coming and going from the house. He'd rather be in his crate if folks are coming over. Cody is only an option for those who have had a dog of their own before and are dog savvy. If there are children in the home they need to be over the age of 8.

Story
Sadie was formerly my mom's companion. When my mom passed away in 2016, I took Sadie in without hesitation, after all, she is a family member. But my life has changed dramatically since my mom passed away. I now have a two-year-old daughter, with another baby on the way. I just don't have the time and energy she deserves. To make things worse, she has a few medical problems that can easily be treated (ear infections, dry eyes, a yeast infection on her skin.) All treatable with attention, diligence, and energy, none of which I have at this point. She is just plain miserable and I am not being fair to her by keeping her in this condition. I am making the incredibly painful decision to rehome her. As you can see by the photos (older before her skin infection), she is a white and reddish-brown color, shiz Tzu, that is a wonderful lap dog. After my mom retired, she and my mom used to hang out in the chair all day, watching TV. She really is a great dog.

Story
Barbie is a sweet little girl who loves to follow you around. She is looking for quiet home where someone is around a lot. She gets along with small dogs, but would be best in a home as the only dog. We are working on getting her used to hugs and cuddles. She is learning her basic commands. Adoption fee: $350 San Francisco Bay Area adoption only. If you would like to meet Barbie, please apply at http://www.lovewoof.org/our-animals Adoption Process: Once an adoption counselor receives and approves your application, they will contact you (only if you match the animal's needs) to set up an appointment to meet the dog you applied for and/or any of the other dogs in the rescue. If the dog you applied for is not a good match for your particular situation, there might be others that are better matches. Adoption Fees: The adoption fee for dogs under a year of age is $350 and $320 for dogs at least 1 year or older. Adoption fees allow WOOF Animal Rescue to continue to provide care and medical treatment (including spay/neuter services) for dogs while we look for their forever homes. The fees also helps cover the ongoing costs of caring for less adoptable dogs that require longer stays in the rescue, or more advanced medical treatment before finding their forever homes. WOOF Animal Rescue, in Fremont CA, does not have a shelter, all of our dogs are raised in foster homes. Each dog comes spayed or neutered, up to date on vaccinations and rabies shots appropriate for their age, and dewormed, etc.
