Bisbee is 11 years young and in good health with only a mild skin allergies. He’s a sweet and loving companion. Unfortunately, he gets overwhelmed and stressed by our 2 and 3 yo kids. While he enjoys eating whatever food they drop, he does not like them near him. I feel he would be happier in a calmer and more slow paced home.

He gets along great with other dogs, cats (he likes to play with them) and children that respect his boundaries. He is an independent little guy that’s up for just about anything. He loves car rides, going for walks and playing with his toys. On top of all that he loves to cuddle with his peeps. He is fully potty-trained and prefers to do his business outside. Curly is looking for a forever home where he will be treated as a respected member of the family.

We have had Oreo since he was a puppy for about 10 years .We acquired him from a neighbor who rescued a litter of puppies from another neighboring rental house when the people had to move . He was very mild and good with kids but as he’s gotten older he has less tolerance with little kids because they make him nervous . We recently had a new baby so we can not the dog . He has a very sweet personality and is affectionate with middle-aged and older people . He is house trained and has slept in a crate in the evening his whole life but will sleep in bed with a person if you allow it .

Baby's owner recently passed away and left her and Gina (5-yr old Chihuahua) without a family or home. She would do best with Gina or as a single pet with someone who can shower her with affection. Likes to lounge around the house and receive lots of cuddles. She's a great guard dog for someone who is looking to be alerted of potential threats. Good with cats, but please no children under the age of 10. Needs a calm, relaxing home and a loving new family.

Little Connor is such a funny little guy. Honestly, if you've never experienced the Shitzu breed then now is the time because they will fill your world with laughter! He is on a very affordable eye medications for dry eye and he has seen great improvement! He is vision impaired but that doesn't slow him down at all, handi-capable is what we call him! Skin and eyes are the biggest issues with Shitzu's but with the right diet, medications and bathing routine Connor is easy peasy! Oh and this guy can entertain himself, just give him an empty box and he will act like it's his own personal I-Robot to play with.

Rosie is an extremely chill dog, if only she is the ONLY dog. She pretty much lays on the couch or finds a cool spot in the shade all day. She's crate trained and house trained. She'd make a great companion dog. Her personality is pretty much the most chill and relaxed dog you'd ever meet. Rosie is spayed, microchipped and current on her vaccines.  Her adoption fee is $200 which helps the rescue cover medical expenses and supplies.  If you'd like to meet sweet Rosie please fill out an adoption application out today at www.secondchancedogrescue.org.  *Rosie came to us with mature cataracts that developed into Glaucoma in her right eye. Her right eye was removed due to pain and discomfort and complete loss of vision. Lucy was rescued from the Carlsbad Shelter after being found in the middle of a busy street. She spent 2 weeks at the shelter, a plea went out to several other local rescues, but no one came to get her by the deadline. Rovers Retreat was made aware of her and rescued her. She is reported to be 12 years old (foster and pet sitter thinks she acts younger than 12 years). She was spayed and had a few tumors removed before her foster was able to pick her up at the shelter. She will be getting some dental work done before she goes to a furever home. Lucy is very sweet and is always super excited to see people. She gets along well with other dogs, even snoozes in a dog bed with her foster brother. She will cuddle up next to her foster mom on the couch. She is working on her potty training skills. She would be a great companion for someone who works from home or is retired.
