At 9 years old, she was shelter bound with a painful eye that had to be removed. She’s sporting a permawink now and her sassy self is ready for the forever home we’ve promised her! Chula has some needs - so here we go. She wants to lay in the sun. She wants to sleep on the couch. She also likes to snuggle. She’s kind a selfish girl and is best suited as an only dog and she prefers a chaos free home, so no young kiddos. She is house trained and she doesn’t make a mess when left alone. My beloved Ziggy is 15 years old, and has been with me since he was a puppy. I acquired him from a farm in Nebraska where they breed only shih-tzus, and are loved and cared for until they find a home. I can honestly say my little Ziggy is the sweetest dog you will ever meet. I would never even consider rehoming him, except that I had an unexpected pregnancy at the age of 42, and my little boy just turned 10 months old, and I am worried he will be too much for Ziggy, at his age. Ziggy is in perfect health, other than I recently found out he has an eye condition called KCS or "dry eye", which is worsening and causing him pain. His eyesight is very limited. The vet has suggested that I have his eyes removed, and that he can continue to live a normal and happy life, as a blind dog. He still gets around with his sense of smell, he just can't see.Through Pet-Aid, here in Denver, they are able to do the eye surgery for $350 per eye. They also offer payment plans. I just can't afford it.

Meet Adrie, this 12lb Shih Tzu is about 9 years old but is still very active and enjoys being around her people going on walks and rides. Adrie was found as a stray at an auto repair shop in pretty rough condition. Be sure to look through all her photos so that you can see her conditon when we scooped her up. Thankfully with some medical care a good bath and a haircut Adrie is looking and feeling much better! Adrie is a cheerful little dog who doesnt let life get her down. She deserves to find a home that is perfect for her, we think she would like a mellow life with an owner who is ready to give her plenty of attention.
