Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Frankie is not new to the assignment of giving love and loyalty to a 'mom' who loves him.   He has been watching over a senior citizen who has moved to a nursing home where he is not welcome. Statistically, he probably has a number of years left  to devote to another human who needs a little fellow like him to cuddle with.    The AKC website says Shih Tzus typically live to be 10 to 18 years of age.  When asked what are Frankie's favorite things to do we were told he just likes to hang out with his people and cuddle.    Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.

Story
Diesel is a lap-sitting Shih-Tzu, born September, 2015.  This sweetie gets along well with other dogs and cats; however, his play is rambunctious.  Older children will do well with Diesel, but he is too active for younger ones.  He is housebroken, but he needs to be given opportunitiy to get outside in time.  He is crate trained, and leash trained.  In his perfect home, Diesel will be very loved and played with.  He needs to get outside often so he doesn't have potty accidents in the home.   The suggested adoption donation for Diesel is $350.  We are a 501c3 organization which means that your donation may be TAX DEDUCTIBLE.  Your donation goes toward the high cost of veterinary care for our animals in rescue, as well as providing supportive services to animals in homes. Information about the adoption process:  All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION.  Once your application is approved, we will put you in touch with the dog’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match.  If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the pet.  The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note:  We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter.  We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each dog, based on the dog’s needs.  If you and the dog are not a good match, we will help you select another dog, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Dizzy is a 12 year old shih tzu/poodle mix who was saved from a shelter in Missouri. She is very low key and independent. Her favorite spot is a comfy bed to nap on. Being an older girl, she needs more frequent potty breaks or she will have accidents in the house. She does fine with her foster dog siblings but is totally fine with being the only one. Dizzy hasn't been cat tested but as long as they are respectful of her, they should do fine.  Dizzy can be picky about who pays attention to her so a quiet home without a lot of visitors or children is best for her. If she doesn't want attention, she will offer a growl to let you know she doesn't want to interact. Once she knows her family, she will ask for attention and enjoys being pet.  Dizzy moves pretty slowly so walks are not necessary. She will require a home without stairs (inside and outside) as they are too difficult for her. She does not like to be picked up unless it's to get in the car to go for a ride. She has food allergies but we have found dry and canned food and treats that she does great on. Other than that, she's a healthy girl. Dizzy's adoption fee is $200 and includes her spay, microchip and current vaccinations. Last Hope's adoption process includes contacting references, vet(s), and landlord (if applicable), as well as a home visit. Last Hope requires all dogs are to be kept indoors and on heartworm  preventatives year round.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.

Story
Kevin is an anxious dog. He’s not very good around young children. He’s not good with fireworks or gun shots or thunderstorms. He’s 9 years old. He’s a true lap dog. Loves to be right beside someone. He’s been a good dog and fun for our family but everyone is going off to college and we don’t want a dog to tie us down anymore.
