Toby, 2 1/2 yr old male shih tzu mix * Special Needs* Toby is a wonderful companion. He needs a calm and quiet adult home, due to his previous life before rescue. He requires a calm and quiet home with a fenced yard, no children, no other pets, and an adopter that has experience with aggressive behavior. Story
Cedar is a young adult (2-3 y.o.) who had a very rough start in life - he came to us very matted, and both eyes so damaged that he was supposed to lose them both. Thru the love and care of his foster mom, his eyes have been saved (although he is blind in one eye) and he is learning (very slowly) how to trust humans again. He doesn't like/trust very many people, or dogs right now. His adopter must understand that Cedar has every reason to NOT trust, and so his affection must be earned - slowly. We believe that his love and devotion are absolutely worth the effort! Cedar is working on his potty training and he is scheduled to be neutered at the end of January. He will be available shortly thereafter.

TY WILL BE AT HIGHLAND PETS, 59 WEST PLAZA ON 7/27/19 IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO COME OUT AND VISIT HIM. JUST LOOK FOR THE GUARDIAN ANGLE ANIMAL RESCUE TABLE. Ty was an owner give up of no fault of his own. He is very sweet and loving. He was used as a therapy dog his whole life. He gets along with dogs and cats but would really like to be an only dog. He is potty trained but still does have some accidents. He is looking for a family to love.

Clooney came to us from DACC after being found laying in the middle of a street in Detroit. He was scared and matted. We gave him a bath, put his hair up and let the decompression begin. He is 17.5 lbs but can play and keep up with the big guys. He absolutely loves adventures including riding in the car and going for walks outside. He loves to be NEAR his humans at all times. He gets along great with our resident dog. He loves to perch up on the couch like a cat and watch the world go by. He is calm and sweet and goofy. He is potty trained and knows basic commands. He loves to sleep in bed with you but will also curl up on his little dog bed as well. He is great on a leash. He is currently working on crate training. His ideal match would be home all day as he has separation anxiety from being abandoned in the past. He is continuing to decompress and his personality continues to come out each day. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children.
