Story
Hi my name is Zhou and I am still looking for my forever home!!! I know I am the cutest little boy out there but I am looking for a very specific home as I have a few medical things you should know about so make sure you read everything carefully to make sure we are match! First let me remind you of my stats: I am around 8 years old, I am a male shih tzu mix and I have been vaccinated, microchipped and neutered! Now for the important stuff: I have a grade 4 heart murmur, mild hip dysplasia, mild degenerative joint disease and a non reducible umbilical hernia. This last one is not really a big deal as it doesn’t bother me at all! I am a bit underweight right now so I am working on getting to my ideal weight slowly, but it will be VERY important to keep me lean and exercised throughout my life and I need a glucosamine supplement as well. I got quite a few teeth pulled out as they were not in good condition and this means that I cannot eat dry kibble. I have been eating raw food and I LOVE it. Foster mom has started giving me chicken feet as a treat and you should see how happy I get when I see them... my whole body moves and I start drooling!!! I live with 3 dogs and we all get along great. They are all calm and respectful so if you have dogs, I would prefer if they are calm and respectful too as I do not like dogs who are constantly in my face and want to play. I haven’t met cats so I can’t tell you how I would be with them. I am looking for a home with children over 14 years old. I need a quiet home as I am a quiet guy and constant noise and movement startles me. As I said before, I need regular exercise to strengthen my hips and joints. When I arrived in foster care I had no muscles and it was very hard for me to walk. I have gotten way better so I need to continue with daily walks and exercise! I love being treated like a regular dog! If you have stairs in your home, be prepared to carry me up and down all the time as I cannot do stairs yet. I also need someone who will be able to work with me to help me build up my confidence. Everything is pretty new to me so I need someone who will be strong and confident and won’t coddle me or tell me ‘it’s okay’ when I’m scared! I’ve made a lot of progress with my foster family and they said I would benefit so much from professional training!!! I am a good co-pilot in the car but again, be prepared to carry me up and down as I am little! I don’t tell the humans when I need to go out to do my business yet so it is important to take me out often or I will have accidents inside! Don’t worry, I am a smart boy and I am sure I will get the hang of it soon! I know it might seem like I am asking for a lot but I promise I am worth it!!! If you think you have what it takes, fill out an application for me at www.findingthemhomes.com Please remember to keep me on a leash both inside and outside for a minimum of 2 weeks when you first take me home. This will keep me safe while I get used to my new surroundings.

Story
Hello & Happy Sunny Monday ☀️ Allow me to introduce myself & tell you about my shining personality ☀️ I’m Jin! I’m about 7 years old & I am a male Shih Tzu mix and I weight about 11 lbs. I’m vaccinated & microchipped. I have a Grade 2 Heart Murmur. ☀️ I am crated trained. I am quiet in my crate & sleep without a peep. When I first came into foster care, I would scratch at the crate door so my foster mom had to cover my crate but that was only for a few days. We don’t need to do that anymore & I’m happy to be in my crate during the day, when my foster mom is not home & at night. She says I’m very well behaved. I like a comfy bed or cushion in my crate too please. My foster mom has to lift me into my crate. ☀️ I am working on housetraining. I will do all my business outside if my foster mom takes me out. My foster mom has caught me trying to lift my leg on things but if she quickly interrupts me and takes me outside I am happy to do it outside. I also eat in my crate but only because my foster mom says I’m a busy body & I don’t like to think I might miss out on some of the action. If she feeds me out of my crate I’m easily distracted. I am currently eating a soft diet as I was a bit picky when I came into foster care. It is important that we look after my teeth. Did you know that small dogs should have their teeth brushed? ☀️ I have short little legs, so stairs are tricky for me. I have learned how to go up the stairs but still have a hard time going down them. Sometimes my foster mom has to help me down them. I also have trouble getting into the car as it’s a pretty big jump. My foster mom has to lift me in but once I’m in , I will lay quietly in the seat. My foster mom also uses my crate in the car and I’m fine in there also. ☀️ I’m get along with other dogs, both big & small. I do try to play with the small dogs. ☀️ I have not met a cat. ☀️ I LOVE toys! And socks!! When I’m playing with toys or find a sock, my foster mom laughs at me as she says my tail just keeps wagging and I like to run around to show everyone what I am playing with. ☀️ My favourite place to hang out is on a soft comfy dog bed. They are just the best place ever! ☀️ I am good with children & other people. I’m mister social butterfly. ☀️ I’m learning to walk on a leash. I like to put the brakes on when my leash is on but when encouraged, I walk quite fine. If you are interested in more information please look me up at www.findingthemhomes.com It is important that I keep my leash on for at least 14 days, both in and out of the house. This helps to keep me safe while we get to know each other.

Story
Jellybean, is guessed to be a six-year-old Shih Tzu mix weighing in at about 14 pounds. Jelly  came to us from one of our local shelters. He was a stray that was so severely matted that he had to be shaved down, but his fur is growing back nicely. Better days ahead for this affectionate fun loving boy. All he needs now is his perfect forever home. Someone who will guide him to be the best dog that he can be. He’s an active little guy that would benefit from a home with a backyard and at least one walk a day. He likes most other dogs and does well with cats too. Jelly is just settling into his foster home and we’re learning things about him every day.  He has an above average interest in his squeak toys but can be easily redirected. Jelly is a cuddly little fellow that will sit on your lap for hours, watch a movie and share a bowl of popcorn with you. Jellybean is being a very good little guy in his foster home considering everything that has gone through in the last few weeks. He’s adjusted quite quickly. He is neutered and up to date with all his shots. Jellybean would do best in a home with children over 12 (because of his toy drive), experienced dog owner and someone that can commit to him for the next 10 years or so. If you think you’re a good match for this active little boy, please fill in an application for our consideration.   PS: He'll even help you with your taxes - see photo number ONE on his gallery shots :) Jellybean is being fostered in Scarborough
