You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. All of our dogs and cats are in foster homes and we have no paid staff.  If you have questions concerning a specific animal,  PLEASE fill out an application and the foster parent will be in touch.  We will not arrange any home visits with any of our dogs and cats until your application is processed.  Please understand our foster parents are precious to our 2nd Chance family; without them we cannot function, so we do our best to not burden them with multiple appointments.  Our foster parents will choose their top 3 applications and arrange home visits with these applicants.  The adopter will be chosen at that time.  The process can take anywhere from a week to a month.  We want to make sure our little furry ones are placed in their "forever home" and never have to go through a rehoming again!   Well hello my name is Poodah.  I am an elderly gentleman but I still have some spunk left in me.  I'm not fond of being picked up and my legs are deformed but that is probably from birth.  ( I of course know but have no way of telling the humans around me :)I hang out with the other ranch dude and today I even played with this young pup named Sally who kept jumping on me and knocking me over but I have to admit it was fun and I kept going back for more :)PS my foster mommy says I need to tell you I REALLY don't like baths and getting my legs played with doesn't make me happy.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to  families with children under the age of 5.  We do not adopt dogs to renters.  Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not.   A pet is a lifetime commitment.  The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners.  We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs.  Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop!

Coco is such a sweet little girl. She bonds quickly and will love her person completely. She would do best in a home where someone is around more often than not. We are working on building her confidence, when she lost her home, she lost her whole world. She has been evaluated by dog trainers who tell us she is insecure right now, but that she is a loving and wonderful dog when she gets comfortable. She will need a dog-savvy family who will be patient with her and work with her to make her a confident and happy girl!

Yogi came to ARI from a partner shelter. He found himself homeless when his caregiver went into the hospital. He has a lot of energy for a senior guy and loves car rides! He is reported as being nervous around kids and would do best in a home with no young children.

Otis is a 9 year old neutered male Shih Tzu who weighs 18 pounds. He was rescued from a bad situation where he was not treated very well, but he is safe now and that is all that matters. Otis seems to have been through a lot in his lifetime and will need a family that is willing to let him warm up at his pace and show him love. ***Please note that Otis does have a grade 4/6 heart murmur, but he is not requiring any medication at this time*** Otis is working on both potty training and walking on a leash, but he is already picking it up and seems to catch onto things very quickly. He does very well around other dogs and we would like his forever home to have at least one other dog to show him the ropes.
