Story
Whiskers is a loving, sweet boy who needs a home! He does best as an only cat or with cats that will leave him alone. He is very gentle and submissive and gets nervous with other animals sometimes. But he loves attention and is obsessed with catnip! Whiskers' first owner declawed all 4 of his paws, and he's had litter box avoidance issues every since. He is an incredible cat, but will need to be adopted by a true cat person who understands he will pee outside the box frequently. Indoor Only.

Story
Mabel was found wandering the streets, severely underweight. She was brought to us, and our vet examined her. She appears to be 15+ years old, and it is heartbreaking she has no home. Mabel likes attention and would love a relaxed home to live out her years. Please consider helping this girl find a home! Indoor Only. Declawing Not Allowed.

CAT APPLICATION LINK:  http://www.roadtorescuela.org/cat-application Wilson (male) Intake date:  1/1/2020 Breed:  Seal Point Siamese DOB:  9/8/2012 Size:  Large Adoption fee:  $100 (which includes microchip enrollment fee) Vetting:  altered (spayed/neutered), UTD on shots, FIV/FeLV negative, on monthly Revolution,  microchipped Health issues:  none Temperament:   very sweet, but leery and cautious around other cats Intake reason:  Wilson was an owner-surrender due to a job relocation that didn’t allow Wilson.  When Wilson first arrived he was very scared and growly and hissing.  Whenever he would see another cat or one would come near his kennel he would react negatively.  We slowly started letting him out of his kennel but he never has acclimated to the other cats.  When a cat comes near and if you are petting him he starts growling.   His former owner indicated he loves to snuggle and is affectionate and sweet.  He can also be very independent as his former owner did travel a lot.  Because of his uncertainty around other cats, we’d prefer a home without other cats… unless the cat is a female and there is room for them to be away from each other.  He seems to be fine with a couple of the females at the rescue… but definitely not the lone male we have currently.  If you are willing to at least give Wilson a try in your home, we’d love to hear from you.   We think once he’s in a home environment, he will fair much better than our small cat building with multiple cats.  **IMPORTANT NOTES:** *We do adopt out of state provided the adopter is willing and able to travel to us once approved.  We do not ship or transport our animals and there is no exception to this rule. *Only adopters with a responsible cat ownership history and excellent vet reference need apply.   If you bring this pet into your heart and home, you will receive in return many years of love, companionship, and loyalty.  That’s our guarantee.   Keep in mind BEFORE APPLYING that a cat’s lifespan is 15-20 years… sometimes even longer!   If you cannot provide a FOREVER home, please do not apply! **NO BABIES OR SMALL CHILDREN.  Cats, and especially kittens, are very fragile.  Small children don’t always understand this so unless the family has a responsible cat ownership history reflecting children growing up with cats, we won’t adopt to homes with small children. *** Time may be of the essence if you are looking to adopt a specific animal.  We do not reserve animals, unless and until we have approved your application, provided the animal is still available at the time we receive your application.  The first APPROVED application we receive will be considered.  We are NOT a first come, first serve rescue!! We adopt our rescues out to the RIGHT home, not just A home. Only responsible pet owners need apply.  Applying to adopt does NOT commit you to the adoption until you’ve met the pet (unless you already have). **** This pet is available for adoption through Ninna’s Road to Rescue, Benton, La.  We are 501c3 non-profit organization.  Our mission is to rescue small-breed dogs and a handful of cats and to re-home them into RESPONSIBLE and CARING forever homes.   Go to this link to apply:  http://www.roadtorescuela.org/cat-application CONTACT:  Our adoptable pets are updated regularly, but if you want to check the availability of a pet... OR still have questions AFTER reading this profile, message us via our Facebook page.   Please indicate the name when communicating with us. www.RoadtoRescueLA.org
