Story
Veronica is 8 years old. A purebred Siberian, she came to Cameron Animal Hospital from a breeder who closed her facility when she became overwhelmed. Veronica is shy but sweet, and wants nothing more than affection. She likes to talk, and loves having her neck and chin scratched. She has never had the chance to live in a real home with a true family to love and spoil her. Devestatingly, Veronica was recently found to have mammary masses. She had a masectomy, and we are awaiting pathology results. However, in cats breast cancer has a 90% malignancy rate. Average survival time following a malignant diagnosis is 1 year. We have not given up hope that Veronica will fall into the 10% benign group, and we have also not given up on finding Veronica her forever home, regardless of the diagnosis. Although it may not be for the long life we had imaginged, she can still be happy and loved. Veronica would do best with a quiet home, as an only pet, or with quiet older animals.
