Story
Meet Corona JC I know I know, the first time you met me I was living with my Mom. I finally moved out of my Mom’s house. *The song It’s the End of the World As We Know It plays in the background* Now, there is a virus that shares my name. Seriously, what’s a guy gotta do to catch a break around here. To be clear, I am named after the beer, not the virus. I was named before the stinkin virus made the news. One good thing about the corona virus is that people are now utilizing social distancing. Fist bumps instead of hugs. I like that. I look like a really cute cartoon character so everyone wants to scoop me up and hug me, but I need to be wined and dined first. I will allow for Foster Mom to briefly stroke me, but the jury is still out as to if I enjoy it or not. She feeds me, she can do what the heck she wants. Crinkle crinkle. Music to my ears. I do enjoy the sound of a treat bag. I eagerly wait for Foster Mom to crouch down and give me a treat. I also let Foster Mom dress me up in sweaters on cold days. Crunch crunch. Also music to my ears. I like carrots and apples and ice. Sometimes the treat is bigger than me, but that doesn’t stop me. Cronchy challenge accepted! With dogs, I am shy at first, but once I get comfy, I try to alpha my way up the chain and invite others to play with me. Like most tiny male dogs, I am not afraid to show my displeasure and get snippy if another dog displeases me. Solution, simply don’t displease me. Since I started off very shy and attached to my fur-mom’s apron strings, I am not a good pet to have around small kids. I want to be the only baby in the house. Period. I am potty trained and crate trained. I adore my crate and my cozy blankie. I am timid and need time to adjust. I like to follow Foster Mom, but I prefer she pretend I am not following her. Once she makes a move, I leave out of her grasp. I respond to soft tones and sweet talk, or as Seinfeld calls them “low talkers”. Do you have any cheese *said Steve Erkel style*. I love cheese. I will sit in your lap for cheese and cuddles. I am a BOY Dachshund, Fox Terrier and pawsibley some Chihuahua mix. I am 9 months in February and weigh about 10 pounds. I don’t live with my Mom anymore, I ventured out to a new foster home with a playmate. I hope my new adopter home also has a playmate and nap buddy. Basics: Corona JC- male, 9 months in February, 10 pounds, Fox Terrier/Dachshund mix, tricolor, good with dogs, not cat tested, timid and shy, but very darling and quite the character, he does not do well with young kids due to his shy and easily startled nature, really needs a quiet home with a quiet submissive play buddy that won’t mind him being the boss, potty and crate trained. GOD'S DOGS Rescue, in San Antonio TX, does not have a shelter. Our puppies are raised in foster homes in the San Antonio area. Each pup comes spayed or neutered, up-to-date with age appropriate vaccinations, micro-chipped, heartworm tested if not started on heartworm preventatives early, and are current with monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. ALL OF THIS IS INCLUDED IN THE ADOPTION FEE OF $500 for puppies under a year old, which also includes the cost of transportation to the assigned location. Medical records accompany each dog at the time of delivery and may be emailed to adopter prior to dog arrival if desired. Microchips will be automatically registered to the new owner after payment of adoption fee. The registration site we use is Michelson Found Animals which is free to use and update during the lifetime of your pet. Please allow 24-48 hours for the new information to appear on the website. God's Dogs will remain as a permanent back up registration for safety sake. Please visit our website http://godsdogsrescue.org/ for helpful information re: transport, our adoption process and application, volunteering and fostering, and photos of our dogs/pups looking for homes!!
