Story
Teddy is a sweet guy but has some minor behavioral and major medical issues that we just cannot afford. Teddy is on Fluoxetine for anxiety (minor separation anxiety) which I feel would resolve with proper training and surgery. He does have luxating patellas in both back legs; he has had surgery but it failed. You'd never know he has them but it is possible that his anxiety comes from being in pain. My goal for Teddy was to have him become a therapy dog but life, finances, and time have taken over the ability to have anything done. He requires a big yard with at least a 6 ft privacy fence, or a farm to roam around.

Story
Teddy will be 3 on 12/24/2019 (estimated birthday). I adopted him when he was 4 months old. When Teddy was 9 months old, he injured himself running in the back yard; traumatic luxating patella on his right rear leg. When he was 11 months we had surgery to correct the injury. During recovery, his other leg went out. We decided to restrict activity and keep him calm and that helped. He can run, jump and play but he still needs surgery to correct his legs. We cannot afford any more surgeries for him which is why we are looking for a new home.

Hi! My name is Butch and I am from Missouri. I am looking for a new foster family! Please CLICK HERE to sign up to foster! From the foster: Meet Butch! We have had him for six weeks and he was very shut down when he came to us, but has blossomed into such a sweet and affectionate boy. He is fearful of new people, and warms up to females, but he takes much longer to warm up to men and will need additional training to build trust with men. Butch is an anxious boy who is regularly taking anxiety medication and needs patience and additional training to build his confidence and help him settle in. He is a big hunk of love, weighing in at 88 lbs. He is dog-friendly, we have one resident dog and others have come to play. He is crate and house trained, calm, sweet and attaches quickly to his person. He would prefer to be near you at all times. He's a big fan of stuffed toys, bones and he LOVES cheese. He's pretty respectful of boundaries and gates and has very nice house manners. Butch is not bold but he is loyal. He wants to be loved and a part of the family and after you build initial trust he'll do his best to be brave for you. He is a flight risk, having a fenced in yard will help immensely. If not, be sure to be intentional about double leashing and having a secure hold. He will have training support post adoption from the rescue to help him gain confidence and aid in relationship building with his new family. Butch will make a wonderful addition to your life - he is a big goofy sweetheart looking for a secure and stable home where he can shine.

River is a sweet, but very shy pup. She loves cheddar cheese for treats, and might even be persuaded to take it from your hand. She loves to chew on her Benebone, and maybe any bed or blanket you place in her kennel. She startles at loud noises, so a calm, quieter house would be best for her. She has attempted to peak out to the living room, but startles with my loud resident dogs. She will use a pee pad and will potty outside when she can be persuaded to go outside. She is doing well with being let out around every 3-4 hours. She would need a fenced in yard due to being a flight risk. She is cat friendly and gets along with dogs with a slow introduction. She really is the sweetest girl.

He definitely needs some extra TLC and someone who can help him come out of his shell and start to explore the world. He does not do well with other dogs and unsure about cats or kids- but I would say he would do best in a home where he is the only animal and no small children. He is great with men and women and a huge teddy bear. He is very nervous on a leash and of new places; but, with the right home and time, he will be such a wonderful addition to the family.
