Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. DOG LOCATION: Ajax, ON.   Luke is a typical poodle full of energy, does the poodle nudge/poke and lifts your hand for a rub and is very affectionate.  Luke is high energy and requires lots of exercise, he currently gets 3 walks a day for a total of 10 km (1 in the morning, 1 at noon and 1 in the evening).  This allows Luke to settle nicely in the house and curl up in his favorite corner.  Luke is good with people and enjoys the interaction and is happy to see them.  He has is favorite people when out walking, and will lean up against them for scratches behind his ears.  However, he is not a match for small children as he gets too interested in their play and is too rough when joining in.  He has no idea of his size and still thinks he is a puppy. He is selective with other dogs and would probably do well in a home of his own or with a calm dog or senior dog.  Luke is learning how to play / engage play properly, this is a work in progress.  If a dog does not want to play with him, after a couple of attempts, he will back off.   He is quite calm on a leash, however, certain dogs make him anxious, in particular, ones that stare him down.  In a situation like that, it is important to keep him on a short leash so that he does not get behind you and start head-butting you.  Otherwise he walks by others dogs quite calmly.  He has gotten much better with squirrels (now he just prances by), no interest in birds, but does try to get at the rabbits.     Luke is a pleasure to have in the home, his foster home trusts him 100% when left alone.  He is a quiet boy during the day, which is a bonus if you work from home.  At night, he curls up on the corner of the bed, and doesn't move until you're ready to get up.  He loves bed time and will go up without you if you are taking too long to go to bed.  In the mornings, he waits patiently for when you're ready to take him out; even when you put the leash on, he is quite calm.  He is also very compliant in having his paws washed and dried after his walks and lifts his legs comically high for them to be dried off. When Luke is hungry, he will make it very clear that it is mealtime by rattling his dog dish and looking at you expectantly.   In the backyard, he like to do a swan dive off the deck where it seems like he is flying in midair.  He  loves to chase his ball and bring it back in exchange for another one.  He loves to race around the backyard and then get a reward for coming back inside.  Because he loves the backyard so much, it is only fair that his forever home have a fully fenced backyard.  Again, he has a high prey drive and likes to chase squirrels, rabbits, mice, etc.   We firmly believe that what helps Luke be such a good-boy are his regular walks, the more the better in his opinion.  His foster has been taking him on occasional runs, he has very few pit stops and loves the quicker pace.    He is a high energy boy and will require a family willing to continue his training.  If you're interested in Luke please email us to start the conversation. Please note we require an adoption application be completed before meeting any of our dogs. Luke's adoption fee is $450.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.DOG LOCATION: Killaloe, ONTARIO. Valen is a beautiful boy. A gentle soul and a dog who truly needed rescuing. We are here for Valen and now we're looking for his forever champion. Someone who is willing to get to know this sweet dog on his time, letting Valen decide how fast the relationship progresses. You see, Valen came to us afraid of humans; terrified really. Too scared to eat when we're around, shutting even the softest noise or smallest movement, so terrified of human touch that he would urinate as soon as he felt our touch. He'd never lived in a house, known a soft bed, abundant food, clean water.  He rehabilitation has been painstakingly slow, requiring hours of patience. But the reward has been great. Just to see any bit of acceptance, maybe even happiness, from Valen is enough to make your heart soar! We're seeing glimpses of a dog who is now recognizing joy and good things in life.  Valen is now searching for his forever champion. That person or family who is willing and able to give him the best life he can have. Who lives in the country, has a fully fenced yard with a fence at least 6 feet tall, who has another dog and who is quiet and gentle. Someone willing to help Valen continue to learn about the big, scary world, but who is also willing to meet him where he is and accept him for who he is. Valen loves to go for walks but only the nature kind as sidewalks and streets are just too intimidating for him right now.  If you would like to be loved by this great dog, please email us to begin the conversation. Please note we require everyone to complete an adoption application prior to meeting any of our dogs. An adoption fee will apply. Valen is being fostered near Ottawa, Ontario    Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.DOG LOCATION: Vancouver, BC.  Meet Divo, he has settled in well with his foster family and the resident dog.  He is such a gorgeous and wonderful.  He came to us a little on the thin side, so we introduced him to a raw food diet and he is already gaining weight. Divo his high energy, slightly nervous and may have some anxiety.  Divo does get excited when seeing other dogs and squirrels / rabbits.  So we are working on getting him to focus on us.  However, once we introduced him to physical exercise and some mental stimulation games, he is proving to be a wonderful poodle and so willing to learn.   Divo requires a home that is willing to work with him to help him become the best dog that he can be.  Leash training is required to keep his focus on you.  We think Divo would be a great candidate for trailing, agility and rally-obedience. He must go to a home with a securely fenced yard.    If you are interested in meeting him please email us to start the conversation. Please note that we will require you to complete an application prior to meeting him.  Divo is being fostered near Vancouver, BC.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.
