Story
NAME: BEN FOSTER AGE/GENDER: 4 YEAR OLD MALE BREED: THAI RIDGEBACK MIX WEIGHT: 40 lbs TEMPERAMENT: SWEET, FRIENDLY, AFFECTIONATE HOUSE TRAINING: GREAT with a consistent schedule. He likes going to the same spot to do his business. Once used to the home, he will ask to go out by pawing at the door. CRATE TRAINING: He eats in the crate and will sleep in the crate. He goes into the crate on his own.  OTHER DOGS: He does not like dogs in his face. He lives with other dogs and prefers the females. He is scared of male dogs. He can be dog selective. CATS: UNKNOWN. He's curious about the cats but not a chaser. CHILDREN: Dog-respectful children, 8 and older   ADOPTION DONATION: $400 HEALTH: BEN is neutered, microchipped, flea treated, dewormed, and is current on vaccines. Your adoption donation goes toward the cost of this vet care as well as other incidental costs of care.  HISTORY: Motley Zoo Animal Rescue was asked by our friends Soi Dog Foundation to find BEN a great forever family!   NOTES FROM FOSTER HOME: BEN FOSTER is a Thai street dog who comes from a shelter in northern Thailand. Ben is an amazingly sweet boy. He is polite and loving. He is getting used to life inside, as he's been on the streets. He does like to be outside and enjoys the sun. He loves to be by the windows to look outside when he's not snuggled up next to you in bed. His fur is quite luxurious and soft, like a bunny. He is extremely food motivated and eager to please. He can be an escape artist so will always need to be leashed and will require a 6' fence. He loves attention and when you look at him or say his name, he wags his stubby tail. He does have a ridge on his back, much like his breed mix, but unlike the breed he's quite docile and wouldn't make a great watchdog as everyone is a friend. He is athletic and would make an excellent athletic companion for jogging and hiking. He loves and looks forward to his daily walks. He can be a vocal boy, but like many primitive-type dogs like Basenjis, he does not bark. He is talkative, which comes across as a whine. And instead of barking, it can sound like a yodel or scream. He's a unique guy!   All dogs adopted from Motley Zoo come with a leash and Martingale collar (or a harness, if necessary), depending on each dog's particular needs.    ABOUT MOTLEY ZOO: Motley Zoo Animal Rescue is a volunteer run, foster based, 501(c)(3) non-profit animal rescue organization based in Redmond, WA. Motley Zoo does not have a traditional shelter location, but instead, utilizes private foster homes which care for the animals individually, in a home environment, until a "furever" home is found.   Motley Zoo also runs "Rock Star Treatment" Dog Daycare & Training Studio in Redmond, WA which is a day-use facility and does not hold kennels of adoptable animals. The dogs there are owned animals who come to the facility while their families are at work and school so they can play and socialize in a safe environment. We dub this service our "Year-round" fundraising program which helps us support our rescue animals and the $15,000/ month vet bills we incur. This Studio location does have an Adoptable Cat Lounge, where cats may live until adoption, which is the exception to any aforementioned rules.   Please email adopt@motleyzoo.org and request an adoption application so we can get you started on the journey to finding a new, furry friend! Once you have been approved to adopt, then we can set up a meeting with the animal you have been matched with.   For more information, please visit www.motleyzoo.org.   Thank you for considering adopting a dog in need!   Woof,   The Motley Zoo Crew

Story
+++ REQUIRES ANOTHER DOG IN THE HOME +++ NAME: MR. DOCTOR MAN (named after a song by Palaye Royale) LITTER: MR. DOCTOR MAN is part of the "PALAYE ROYALE" litter". AGE/GENDER: Baby 8.1.19, Male BREED: KOREAN JINDO MIX TEMPERAMENT: Shy, rambunctious, inquisitive WEIGHT: estimated adult weight 40-50 lbs HOUSE TRAINING: Not yet! He is a baby so he'll need a consistent schedule with multiple opportunities daily to go outside while he works on it. Puppies should not be considered reliable in regard to housetraining until 6-12 months of age. They're a lot like toddlers, who require diapers! CRATE TRAINING: Good, he's young and trainable! OTHER DOGS: GREAT! He will need continued socialization, like all puppies! CATS: Good! Continued socialization will be important! CHILDREN: Dog-respectful children, 12 and older - Mr. Doctor Man is fearful of children and their quick movements ADOPTION DONATION: $500 HEALTH: MR. DOCTOR MAN is healthy! Prior to adoption, puppies will be altered, microchipped, flea treated, and dewormed. Puppies are given vaccination boosters in our care; however, adoptive families will be responsible for the remaining vaccinations that puppies need. Your adoption donation goes toward the cost of this vet care as well as transportation and general care costs.  HISTORY: MR. DOCTOR MAN came to us via our friends Go Rescue Korea. He is a survivor of the dog meat trade and flown here from Korea to have a chance at a better life. NOTES FROM FOSTER HOME: MR. DOCTOR MAN is a puppy so he's playful and has a lot of puppy energy! He is super cute and fun, but a lot of work. His forever family should be committed to lots of training - obedience, housetraining, and socialization. This will ensure that MR. DOCTOR MAN grows into a confident, well behaved adult! Puppies' personalities are dependent on their environment, and the structure and training they are given, in addition to socialization. Their personalities continue to grow and be shaped by their new adoptive families. Puppy daycare and socialization classes or puppy kindergarten are highly recommended for their personal development. He will more than reward you for all your hard work with lots of love, loyalty, and laughs.   MR. DOCTOR MAN is a former meat dog. As such, he's learning how to interact with people and other dogs. He does great with other dogs, but can be a little pushy as a teenage male can, but takes direction easily. Because of this he will need a dog his size or larger. A confident friendly adult dog who can help mentor him and show him the world is not a scary place. Because right now, for Mr. Doctor Man, it can be a little overwhelming. Once he knows you, he loves to give kisses and play. He's learning not to jump on your in his excitement. He will need a patient and loving home who will take the time to give him the training and socialization he needs. All dogs adopted from Motley Zoo come with a leash and either a Martingale collar or a harness, depending on each dog's particular needs.   ABOUT MOTLEY ZOO: Motley Zoo Animal Rescue is a volunteer run, foster based, 501(c)(3) non-profit animal rescue organization based in Redmond, WA.
