Meet Shamrock! He came into rescue in horrible shape and needed immediate shaving and vet care. Shamrock's neglect has also lead to heart failure and will require daily medications. On the positive side, Shamrock loves people! He is likely receiving attention and love that he hasn't got to experience in a long time. He is great with the kids and other dogs in the home. He is vision impaired but that doesn't stop him, he's quickly learning the ins/outs of his foster home. Not many families are looking for a dog like Shamrock but we hope there's a special someone out there that will give him a dream come true adoption and show him how he should have been loved all these years! All current pets in the home must be up to date on vaccinations, heartworm preventatives and altered unless medically unfit. Our approval process includes an approved application, reference check, home visit and once approved, a meet and greet with the dog. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.========================================================= Please contact app@aarfhouston.org for more information about this dog. You can apply online by clicking on Application . Puppies that are under 4 months old cannot be adopted outside of our Veterinary Service area. Please call for specific locations. Children under 8 years old often are not a good match for our puppies and dogs. In order to protect both, your child and our rescued dogs/puppies from harm, we seldom if ever adopt to families with young children. Once your application is approved, we will schedule a meet and greet at one of our adoption events. Thank you for considering a rescue! The adoption fee includes vaccinations, Bordetella, de-worming, rabies, spay/neuter and microchip. There is a an additional $12.99 fee for Home Again for a lifetime registration of the microchip. Puppies cannot be adopted outside of the Houston area until they are spay/neutered after they are 4 months old. It is against the law in the State of Texas for a rescue not to be sterilized so we have to make sure it gets completed and that we have record of it. NOTE: In our bios, we provide information based on our volunteer's experience with a particular dog; such as temperament, training, and ability to get along with others. AARF is a 501(c)3 Non Profit, all breed, no kill organization. Our group is always in need of donations in order to continue to give the needed medical care to our rescues. Adoption fees do not begin to cover all of the medical costs. Any donation , no matter how small is a big help and is greatly appreciated. Please help us to continue to help them. Thank you.

Hi. My name is Clyde. I am a 4 year old scruffy mix. I love to play or hang out with you on the couch, whichever you prefer. My BFF is Lewis and I have helped him gain the confidence to be a great dog, too. I don't always put my best paw forward at adoption events, since they make me anxious, but my foster mom says I'm a really quiet boy at home! I mean, I bark when the door bell sounds and when there's a squirrel in the yard, but other than that I'm pretty quiet. But my vocal talents are amazing! I like to talk and will try to a couple times a day for only a few minutes! I'm trying to master I LOVE YOU right now. My sidekick, Lewis, and I are looking for our forever home together.
