Ivory is 10 years old and full of love and playfulness. She was once loved by her elderly owner but the owner became ill and unable to care for her properly. By the time someone got Ivory out of there and to us, this poor sweetheart was one of the most matted dogs we've ever seen. Our wonderful volunteer worked for hours to remove the hard, turtle shell-like mass of hair. Despite what Ivory went through, she absolutely ADORES people. All she wants out of life is to be cuddled and loved in her golden years. She has low vision, so she tunes in on your voice, cocking her head back and forth hoping you are talking to her! She does great with other dogs but likes people most of all - she will sit in your lap to be cuddled for as long as you will let her! She has excellent housetraining manners. Ivory will require eye medication for the rest of her life. Her adoption will come with the first 6 months of her eye medication. She is heartworm negative, up to date on vaccines, microchipped and spayed. If you are looking for a small, sweet senior girl, Ivory might be the one for you! Her adoption fee is $200. This includes her spay surgery, DhPPv vaccination, rabies vaccination, deworming, heartworm prevention, microchip, leash and collar, and 30-days of pet health insurance. Our adoption events are held each Saturday at Petco located in the Northwoods Shopping Center at 18138 San Pedro Ave, San Antonio TX 78232. Prospective adopters must be able to travel to San Antonio to complete the adoption process. ** - IMPORTANT INFORMATION - SASPCA Homeward Bound Dog Rescue and San Antonio Great Dane Rescue are 501(c)(3) foster-based rescue groups based in San Antonio, Texas. Our group focuses on assisting open admission shelters in South Texas where over 32,000 dogs and cats are euthanized each year. Our puppies and dogs are completely vetted and live in foster homes. They are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and tested for heartworm disease.All adoptions include one month of flea and heartworm preventative, leash and collar, and a 30-day trial of 24PetWatch Pet Insurance. We do try to schedule bi-monthly meet-and-greets in Austin as interested is generated. We are an all-volunteer organization and do not currently have the resources to process out-of-state adoptions.
