Story
Ladies, are you looking for the perfect guy? Well, look no further! I am all that AND a bag of chips! Speaking of chips, they're DELICIOUS! I am a true carb-o-holic. I love potatoes, corn, bread and zucchini. And beer should be kept out of my reach, because I have a taste for that, too! My foster mom tries to make sure I don't get into any of that stuff, but sometimes a loaf of bread is just too tempting to resist! I am also an expert at yoga and have perfected the "downward dog" pose. We could totally do yoga together! I am also an excellent swimmer and love to sit in the pool. My favorite shows are The Bachelor and The Bachelorette! I also like to watch Homestead Rescue. Oh, who am I kidding? I love watching anything on TV, period! I am the ideal composition of your perfect guy! We could do yoga in the morning, swimming in the afternoon and in the evening, grab a bag of chips and binge watch TV together! See? Perfect guy! I also love to have my ears rubbed and belly rubs. I don't mind hugs, but don't like to be laid on or loud noises like thunder or gun shots. I have learned to get along with the resident cats in my foster home and I will hang out with them on the sofa. I also live with several other dogs and I get along with them all. My favorite toy is my monkey and I do not tear my toys up. My foster sister, Josie, ripped up my monkey and foster mom fixed him for me. He is my favorite and I take him to bed with me at night. I sleep in my crate at night and will go in my crate myself when I am tired and ready to go to sleep. I should not be allowed on people beds until I've settled in because I tend to get possessive of them and will get grumpy if asked to move. However, if I do get grumpy, food (preferably a bit of bread or a potato chip) or a toy changes my whole mood. I am easy to manage, once you get used to my quirks. I would do okay with older kids, but I would not enjoy being around a rambunctious toddler or a baby. My ideal home would be with a single person or a couple. They tell me that I am a Treeing Walker Coonhound and that I am around 7.5 years old and around 61 pounds. They also say that I am so handsome and very sweet and silly! I am house trained, crate trained, and I am not a big barker. I really only bark when it's meal time and I couple that with a little wiggle butt dance. I get so excited to eat! I will definitely need a forever home with a nice back yard because as a hound dog, I like to explore with my nose. If you think I might be the guy for you, give them a shout and tell them Elvis sent you! The sooner, the better! I can't wait to meet my forever people! I hope it's YOU! Elvis's adoption fee is $650 (that includes ground transport from Houston, TX to the Hartford, CT area). Transport is arranged to adopter upon finalizing the adoption. He has been neutered, fully vaccinated and microchipped so he is ready to go! **This dog is currently in his foster home in Houston, Texas.

To adopt please fill out an adoption application. Rusty is an 18 mo male hound who was rescued as a stray in Memphis. According to our veterinarian, Rusty is a Treeing Walker Coon Hound mix. Friendly and well-socialized, happy temperament, never meets a stranger. Loves to play with other dogs, but is recommended for larger dogs due to his size and activity level. Fine with cats, living with cats in his foster home. Great with kids and very loving with the 4 yo child in his foster home.  Crate trained and housebroken. Very active outside, settles down in the house. Obeys basic commands.  Loves to be with his people. Good on a leash, rides great in the car. Healthy, neutered and fully vetted, about 70 pounds. AWESOME young dog will make a wonderful companion (and jogging partner)  for an active family with kids. Rusty's ideal adopter is an experienced and patient dog owner who understands the needs of the breed and has time for the training and exercise that Rusty requires. The Treeing Walker Coon Hound is as Southern as biscuits and gravy, magnolia trees, and William Faulkner, so named because he was bred to chase raccoons into trees. These dogs are runners and capable of covering a lot of ground in a hurry. The breed is alert, intelligent, active, courteous, and courageous with extreme endurance and the desire to perform. Story
Emmaline is a gorgeous pure bred Tree Walking Coonhound that is looking for a wonderful home and family who love the Hound characteristics and gentle ways. This girl is about 2 years old and weighs 50 pounds. She was found at a construction site yard with her 6 puppies that were about 6 weeks old and lucky to be alive. This girl is housetrained and loves to sit and cuddle with you on the sofa. She is fabulous with other dogs and cats as well.   Nothing wrong with this girl except that She doesn’t have a home and family yet.  She is in foster care but the foster mom has to give her up very soon and we are in search of a new foster or a forever home ASAP.   The current foster mom says Emmaline  makes her laugh every day with her delightful personality and her loving ways.   If you are looking for a wonderful medium sized dog to love then Emmaline is the one for you.  She will need a fenced yard because a Hound needs some room to stretch their legs and get that exercise worked off.     PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.com

Story
Annie the treeing walker coonhound needs someone special to give her a foster home or forever home, she has been waiting so long.  This 7-8 year old girl weighs about 75 pounds and has spent the last 8 months in a crate at a vet’s office In East Tennessee.  Her owner dropped her off and never returned to get her.  The staff didn’t know what To do about it since the local shelter was not a good alternative and so for 8 loooonnnnngggg months this Girl has laid in her kennel/crate and wondered how her life ever got to be like this.  No exercise and just a Smidgen of love daily from the staff.  But this is NO LIFE!  Can someone help change this girl’s Story to something happy.  She will love you forever if you do and so will Critter Cavalry Rescue.  We will provide anything needed for a foster home to open up.  A forever home would be even better but we will just hope for one step at a time.  Can you help sweet Annie???   Contact ccrtennessee@gmail.com We transport northward as well every weekend. Story
Please note, we are a Texas based rescue that transports our pups once they are adopted. All of our dogs reside in foster homes, so much is known about their temperament, training level and personality. We know adopting a dog sight unseen can be daunting, so we are happy to share additional videos, photos and even let you Facetime with the pup. We are primarily an equine rescue, but do assist with a small number of dogs annually. We are happy to provide references from previous adopters if needed. Thank you for wanting to adopt! My name was made famous by a rock group named Looking Glass in 1972. In the song, the sailors always say "Brandy, you're a fine girl". In my life, my original owner would always say to me "Brandy, you're a fine girl, a good dog"; and, he would scritch my ears as we watched TV together. Sadly, my original owner couldn't take care of me or my fur siblings any longer and had to surrender us when he moved to an assisted care living facility. I wanted to let you know, I wasn't given up because I wasn't loved anymore; `I have always known love. And now, I am snuggling next to my Temporary Hooman watching TV. My Temporary family has lots of other fur kids called "cats"; this is fine with me as I grew up with cats and kittens. I just let them be and we "co exist" as one big happy family. As a lady of "a certain age", I have outgrown the puppy and young dog phases of chewing up your stuff; I am also impeccable in my personal habits (I always "Take it outside"!!) I am an 11 year old female Chiweenie and weigh in at 15 pounds. I could stand to lose a couple of ounces, maybe :) The vet says that I am in good health and have lots of happy years ahead of me to share with someone. But, don't let my maturity level fool you; I still LOVE to go walking and spolrin' round the neighborhood. We can keep each other healthy by walking daily..or a couple of times daily if you wish!! I love being with hoomans and wouldn't do well in a home where I am left alone or crated much of the time. I love hugs and kisses and sleeping in my Temporary Hooman's bed!! My personality is very friendly and outgoing. I am full of sunshine and joy and enjoy everyone that I meet (including the vet!!) I like sitting at the table with the "grown ups" and listening to them talk (I would NEVER think of actually getting up on the table like some of the other fur kids do!! Shocking!! :) If you are looking for a steadfast, dependable, and well mannered companion, look no further!! Although I do not expect to wear " a braided chain Made of finest silver from the North of Spain", a new collar and a tag with your name on it will really make me happy!!

Story
Tracker was my first baby. He is the sweetest snuggle bug, house trained, rarely barks, not a troublemaker and very docile. He likes to lounge on the couch all day. Always up for a walk or a hike if you are too though :). He was a rescue but we think he is a beagle/ dachshund mix. We adopted him about 5.5 years ago, was likely about 2 years old at the time. He was a rescue from the South and was very timid when we first got him. He now loves all people but doesn't do well with young children and we have a 1.5 year old son. He gets very nervous about children when they are wild and once snapped at our son when he was bothering him. Tracker would prefer to hang out with adults all day, also not a huge fan of other dogs though he does fine and is never the instigator, just gets overwhelmed and nervous if a bigger dog is trying to play. He has a few smaller doggie friends. Doesn't like cats... or likes to chase them 😊. Needs a new home with adults or older kids.

Story
Ollie is a very sweet and active 8 year old beagle. We have had him since he was a puppy, but recently he has been showing aggression toward our small children (15 months) and is also becoming territorial around other dogs. He is very social with people and loves everyone, as long as they aren’t too young! He has the kindest heart and loves people (aged 13+) but his aggression toward small children is no longer compatible with our growing family. We have another dog, and they are very bonded, so he does like other animals—however he does have leash aggression when around dogs he doesn’t know. Not sure about how he would act around cats.
